Over the last handful of years, the creators of Penny Arcade have run their Child’s Play charity to buy toys for kids in hospital. This year the organization has teamed with Amazon.com and over a dozen children’s hospitals in Canada, the US, and the UK.
The charity was started as a way to show that people who play video games (and by broad extention, anyone who enjoys movies, games, and pop culture in general) aren’t violent maniacs or shiftless losers (well, not all of us. narf!)
You don’t have to give a lot – sometimes it’s as simple as buy a ten buck kids book. So please consider it, won’t you?
