Please…

No more emails about the IGN / Contactmusic.com / some blog that references either IGN or Contactmusic.com news item about GB3. It’s bogus. They have a script. They did think about Ben Stiller starring at one point. Harold Ramis is not sitting at home sewing the new costumes right this second.

It’s pure, internet sensationalism, and it’s not valid.

Google Maps Guide to Ghostbusters

When Google Earth was released, I wondered how long it would take for someone to make a guide to Ghostbusters. The answer? Uh, about a year and a half? I guess.

Ironic Sans has put together a topological look at all the New York shooting locations for Ghostbusters. Not that it outdoes the highly informative NYGB Tourguide, but it’s still a nice visual look at all those famous NY locations.

The article that just won’t die

E.Y. sent in a link to IGN, that references that awful WENN news item from last year. Stax has read the GB3 script, so his article is a lot more level headed, but he still picked up on the Ben Stiller item, which is so old as not to be credible any more.

UPDATE – Oh good, it’s starting all over.
In the wake of IGN’s post regarding GB3, Contactmusic.com has boiled the entire article down to a couple of dozen words, which comes out as “Aykroyd pens GB3 script, Bill Murray to be replaced by Ben Stiller.” This is turn get’s picked up by a dozen blogs, who are now reporting that Ben Stiller is replacing Bill Murray, which isn’t what the original article said at all.

I hate the internet.

UPDATE – I’d like to initiate Cinescape and the Internet Movie Database into the Too Lazy To Research club. Well done lads. Thanks for helping sort things out.

Back from LA – Hardcover barely on life support

I’m back, semi-rested, and commenters drank everything in my booze cabinet – nice.

For whomever asked, yes, I was at E3, but didn’t get to see much, as I was hustling my can all the time. I did get a look at Dead Rising, which is zombies, not ghosts, but is a lot of fun.

The big news upon my return is Sebastien retreating from the public eye until he has good news about the GB hardcover, which may mean we never see Seb again. For those of you who want to complain, feel free to do-so in a constructive manner. For those of you who want to complain that Proton Charging made you buy the book (you know how you are) and now you feel ripped off and want to blame me, get stuffed. Caveat Emptor, fanboy – welcome to the club, we all got bit.

UPDATE – Paul at Spook Central spotted awhile back a new forum for grousing about the Hardcover. It sounds like a good home for anyone with a gripe to air.
