Do you bust in a land down undah?

The steady stream of GB fanfilms continues with Ghostbusters: Oz. Still it the early stages (costumes and props, plus a couple of ghost concept sketches), but looking good so far.

Also, the producers of Ghostbusters: Generation have wrapped initial production, but are looking for a little funding to help wrap it up. If you’re intersted in contributing, you will not walk away empty handed. Various levels of donations get you various amounts of copies of the movie on DVD, plus a producer credit in the film! If you look at the credits at the bottom of the site, you’ll see that the new PC is based on a WordPress template by Brian Gardner – I tinkered with it, layout wise, so anything you’re not happy with (ie the big grey space), that’s my call, not his design.

The one thing I wasn’t happy with was the big long list of archived months on the left side – given the lifespan of PC, that list was huge and only going to get huger. So, I went to the source, and asked Mr. Gardner for some advice. The result, as you can see, is a new Archives page. And it’s spiffy.

In return for his kind help, I donated to a run to raise money for breast cancer research – Brian and his wife have been doing it for several years. Personally, I’ve always made a point of supported breast cancer research, as it has hit close to home in my family.

PC has been running practically ad-free* for a long time, out of my own pocket. I’ve never needed donations or ads to maintain it – however, if any of you are so inclined, instead of supporting me (just reading regularly is all you need to do to support PC), please consider supporting Brian. All it takes is a measly five bucks to get involved.

I’ll sweeten the deal – anybody that contributes, I’ll send them some PC buttons at least (and maybe special swag, if I find any lying around). Just drop me a line when you’ve donated – either point me at your name in the scolling list of contributors or forward me a copy of your donation confirmation**.

Please Consider Contributing

And thanks to Brian for his help, thanks to you guys for hanging out, and thanks to everyone that pitches in.

* I ran ads once, for two months, way back when. It was a stupid system that netted me two bucks. So I dropped it.

** If you don’t have a credit card, or can’t use someone elses, like a parents (ask first kids) email me, maybe we can work out something manual, old-school, snail mail-y.

Superfans!

I always like it when Ghostbuster fans get noticed – and I’ve got two doozies. The first is Detroit based Dr. J, Greg Justis, who got some ink for being the owner of some of the sickest GB memorabilia around.

The second is Kevin Henry, of Fort Collins, Colorado. Finding that a snow storm put him out of business for the day, he and his cohorts took to the streets in his Ecto-Subaru to help those in need (ie stranded motorists, etc.) The result was some excellent press for the community as a whole. Check out his ride here.

Big thanks to Netsolo for the heads up.
