Matthew keeps the video hits comin’ with this clip from ABC’s Earth Day Special in 1990 (one year after Ghostbusters 2) – if you get to 5:15, you’ll get to hear from Elon Spengler, “brother” to Egon, and founder of Wastebusters. You have to see it to believe it, trust me.

Now I’ve seen it all – well except the rest of the GB’s brothers. I mean, where’s Jay Stantz, Winton Zeddemore, and Dieter Venkman?

  2. WHAT IN ALL OF THE HOLY HELL?

why is this the first time we’ve seen this? This isn’t canon right? lol : ) Funny, but, oh forget it I have been left near speechless.

  3. Lucas says:

Freakin insane. So many cameos, I want to see the rest. Ghostbusters reference is icing on the cake!… Darn good icing though.

  4. Steven says:

Yikes. Really hope the videogame script is better than this one….

  5. Logo Lou says:

I remember this. It was kinda of amazing how they got all sorts of ‘A’ list actors & characters from TV shows and movies from all different companies of the time into it. I think it ran without commercicals too. Can’t imagine anything like it ever happening today.

  6. Steven says:

    Logo Lou,

It reminds me a bit of the “Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue” anti-drug cartoon: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jivU-4xv7aw

  7. Jeff says:

    Watch it until the end!

    “GREAT SCOTT! It’s not good!”

  8. That´s new to me… Elon Spengler???
    and wearing sneakers!!

Thanks for sharing, that shows the impact Ghostbusters had in the US audience in the early 90s.

  9. I can’t believe that most of you have never seen this. I remember watching it live on ABC back in April of 1990, and taping it too. Plus I bought the home video that Warner Bros. released. It would be great if Warners re-released it onto DVD, and with the “save the environment” craze being popular again, it certainly would be a good time to do it. If they could release it once on home video, then there shouldn’t be any major rights or royalties issues with releasing it again.

Sadly, we’ll never get Cartoon All-Stars To The Rescue on DVD because of rights issues. Yes, that one too got a home video release way back when (I have a copy), but if I remember correctly, that was just for the rental market, not for consumer purchase (except for when the rentals became available for sale as “previously viewed”).

  10. By the way, if you just want to view the segment with Harold, that 3:34 clip can be found here:
