Everybody has been pretty keen to hear more about the submissions to the contest – as promised, I’ve put together two teams – the “dream team” based on the actors that were suggested the most, and the “hybrid team”, which is made up of my favorite actors from the five winning submissions. The dream team would be a pretty good team, and at the same time, the hybrid team would be interesting. Remember; Columbia that Eddie Murphy and John Candy were THE guys to play Winston and Louis, so scoff not at what seems like an odd combination. The original team was just as odd, and look how that turned out.

Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Ernie Hudson, Bill Murray, and Rick Moranis.
The Dream Team
Seth Rogan as Ray, Stephen Colbert as Egon, Mos Def as Winston, Ryan Reynold as Peter (I did say on the radio that Odd’s pick of Raynolds was popular), and Seth Green as Louis – because any movie with two Seth’s has got to be good.
The Hybrid Team
Jon Favreau as Ray, Alexis Denisof as Egon, Jay “Beerfest” Chandrasekhar as Winston, John C. McGinley as Peter, and Alyson Hannigan as Louis… or possibly Louise. Given Denisof and Hannigan are married, maybe the love interest isn’t between Egon and Janine this time around.

If a remake of Ghostbusters is ever made and the cast consist of these people I think I just may slit my wrists before shooting myself in the head.
And therein lies the problem – everybody thinks they’ve got a better idea. Thus, a remake should never, ever happen.
The Dream team works for me…but throw in Hannigan as Jeanine
i like “Dr Cox” as Peter Venkman…more than “Huge” Laurie
They should never make a Ghostbusters film with different actors.
I actually really like the idea of the Hybrid team.

wow, wth…those ideas suck. those are groups of people who haven’t even proven to mesh well together. you cant just take a bunch of random actors who haven’t worked together extensively in the past and expect them to have the comedic chemistry of the original cast. those would be the lamest casts ever.
Remakes are bad, terrible things, unless they turn out well…which would happen if:
Ray: Seth Rogen
Egon: Steve Carrell
Winston: Mos Def is good, Sam Jackson, better.
Peter: Paul Rudd
Louis: David Cross
Everyone really does have their own set.

OK, here are my picks…
Egon – Steve Carroll or someone of that type.
Veckman – Nobody except Reynolds would do it justice.
Ray – nobody comes to mind so I will go with anbody EXCEPT Seth Rogan. That guy is a freaking MORON. oh wait…JACK BLACK!
Winston – screw Mos Def. make it a DAUGHTER and give the role to someone like Latifah or Jada Pinkett.
Louis – I like the idea of Alison Hannigan.
Wow, the “Dream Team” ended up being really good. I think they’d be fantastic, actually. Although I still like my pick for Winston… Darius McCrary (you know, Eddie Winslow from Family Matters, hehe). Ah well, he’s still a really good pick.
rawr – lighten up. The post even says the two teams are pulled from EVERYONE’S submissions – they were not submitted as whole groups.
As a matter of fact, you guys are taking this way too seriously. The contest was a chance for everyone to goof around, but I’m you’re all approaching it like if you don’t say something, it’ll be made tomorrow with people you hate OMG!
It’s not getting made. It was supposed to be fun. Don’t be so uptight about it.

The dream team is good. I really like that. It seems alot of people including myself chose Reynolds as Venkman lol.
The only one of my choices I really was sure of was Ted Raimi as Louis. He was my very first chocie for him. The rest except Venkman took quite a while lol.
Congrats to all who won though. But lets hope there never is a remake even though this was just for fun lol.
