No San Diego Comic Con – what up with that?j
[UPDATE] My late night post beat out the arrival of official press release on the tour. You can read it here. The pr is video game centric, which suggests that the tour is specifically a Vivendi/Sierra event, which would explain the absence of the SDCC, where one would assume Sony would handle any Ecto-1 and 1a appearances as part of the “big announcement.” Cheers to AJ at GBfans.com for linking people to the press release, for those interested.
For those not interested, the kicker is the blurb on some of the upgrades given to the Ecto-1 (some of which we saw in earlier photos.)
In light of ECTO-1’s tour to some of the hottest car shows throughout the country, Sony has taken the liberty to update the Ghostbusters’ ride with the latest and greatest Sony Xplod mobile electronics. ECTO-1 now sports a Sony XAV-W1 double din touch screen A/V center, Xplod XS-GT1625A speakers and an Xplod XS-L10S slim subwoofer – all the essentials to keep ECTO-1’s sound system on par with the rest of the ghost catching equipment found on the Ghostbusters’ primary mode of transportation.
It better play THIS, that’s all I’m saying; :p

This may be a dumb question, but will you need to pay to get into the car shows it’s at? I’ve never been to one so I wouldnt know about that kind of thing. At least this time I’ll get to see it when it comes to Minnasota this time though regardless of any admissions fee (if any)!
The car shows and Knott’s Berry Farm, you will likely have to pay to see the car. PAX and Comic Con don’t have the room inside for the car, as they’re convention halls. At worst, Comic Con may have the car in the lobby, which you don’t have to pay to get into – you have to pay to get into the hall (same goes for PAX, only I don’t think they have a big lobby.)
Pleasanton’s not even an hour away from me so chalk me up to attend.

The Hollywood Detective wrote me awhile back saying he was going to check in on the Ecto-1a – its supposed to be starting restoration again now, after being pushed back by another car needed for an active production.
Most car shows require an entrance fee.

Just got one from Sony, can’t wait to see it again. I’ll be checking on Ecto-1A early July. Also got word that theres am Ecto-1 replica in Santa Monica CA, i’ll be checking it out soon. I’ve seen so busy trying to find new Movie/TV Cars, Sony was kind to send me there Ecto-1 Tour.
Whats going on with SDCC ? Trying to get Dan and Ivan to show. They they show, Ecto-1 will show. Seems like Ecto-1 will not show at all.
