You’ve probably seen the name – from all the times you’ve watched Ghostbusters (and many many other movies and TV shows as well), the name keeps popping up again and again, until it’s stuck in your mind. Bernie Brillstein was a one of the Hollywood old-guard, and executive producer on both Ghostbusters films. He often worked with Dan Aykroyd, having produced both The Blues Brothers and Dragnet. He also served as an executive consultant on a few episodes of The Real Ghostbusters.
Mr. Brillstein passed away tonight after a prolonged illness at the age of 77. We can only hope he was able to see some of the the year’s revived public interest in the comedies he helped make happen.
