Friend pimping – Speedway Squad

Recently I got to sit in a comedy podcast hosted by friends of mine – It wasn’t terribly Ghostbusters specific, though I did outright taunt them with the offer of exposure here on PC if they’d talk GB for a moment. Which lead to a baudy debate about the hotness of Ghostbusters Sigourney Weaver compared to Alien Sigourney Weaver. Which is to say, I did that, that was my fault.

Seriously, if you’re the kind of person looking for a good, hour-long comedy podcast in the style of SModcast or Never Not Funny, you can’t go wrong with Chris, Bob, and Jordan. And, like I said, the last episode has my nasal twang getting in the way. Bonus!

Speedway Squad! NSFW! (but darn funny)

Atari previews Ghostbusters game on UK Xbox Live

For those of you in the UK, you can hit the video marketplace for Atari Live: We Ain’t Afraid of No Ghost, a short video preview of the Ghostbusters video game. I’m trying to find out if we’ll get it in NA soon – more than likely, we’ll get a similar preview, as the UK video features a UK host. Stay tuned. Thanks to Matthew for the heads up.

[UPDATE] Matthew has a topic on it at GBFans and another UK fan, SlimedPeanuts, as a screen photo as evidence. It should be noted that most free, Xbox Live videos eventually end up on Microsoft’s Live website, usually a week later.

Ghostbusters costume on display in West Virginia

As part of a traveling exhibition of science-fiction film costumes organized by the Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame, Seattle, Washington, GB fans in Charleston, West Virginia will get a chance to peep a Ghostbusters costume this week at The Clay Center.

[Out of this World:
Extraordinary Costumes from Film and Television] includes 43 costumes and artifacts from Star Wars, Batman, Blade Runner, The Terminator, Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, The Wizard of Oz, Ghostbusters and other films and television shows.

This is apparently just the jumpsuit, not suit and proton pack. The display opens Saturday, February 7th and continues to May 10th. Tickets are $7 for adults, $5.50 for kids.

UCLICK officially announces iPhone GB comic

Well, they’re over a week behind on their own news, but UCLICK released their official announcement for their mobile/iPhone friendly version of IDW’s Ghostbusters: The Other Side comic.

“I think everyone loves the idea of these four geeky, wisecracking scientists taking on threats that would evoke sheer terror in any sane person,” said Uclick CEO Douglas Edwards. “Fans of the Ghostbusters movies are going to love reading this story on the iPhone and iPod Touch, because it’s a new way to experience these characters. Ghostbusters: The Other Side is an original comic book story that perfectly captures the horror comedy elements and anti-hero spirit of the movies.”

The press release doesn’t have firm dates, but does confirm that the other three issues will be available in “the coming weeks.”

IGN posts Rule #2 trailer

Back when Sierra was still in charge of the Ghostbusters video game, the publisher released the first trailer for the game, warning us of the most important rule – don’t cross the streams. Now, Atari is in charge, and they’ve just released a new trailer, warning us of the second most important rule (though, as it turns out, it’s not THAT important.)

Some good footage, and a style nod to the first trailer (by including footage from the actual movie), but the thing that stands out the most is getting to hear Brian Doyle Murray as the Mayor (Mayor Has A Hat, as I like to call him.) Thanks to Ecto Freak for the tip.
