Blu-ray trailer re-appears

After briefly popping up on a number of sites last week (and almost immediately being ordered down by Sony), the trailer for the soon-to-be-released Blu-ray edition of Ghostbusters is back again. Mostly made up of film footage and voice-over, the trailer does show a little of the PIP commentary and a couple shots from the featurette of the restoration of the Ecto-1. It mentions Slimer Mode, but really… it doesn’t explain it to viewers very well. But hey! Slimer Mode! Who doesn’t want something called Slimer Mode?

The Intel station they talk about is the build I got to play (more on that later), and as they explain, Intel has worked with them to get the most performance possible out of the game on Intel machines. Thanks Matthew!

False alarm – Moranis is still absent

An Atari representative has confirmed that Rick Moranis will not be in the game.

So, that’s about it then. I have no idea what The Escapist has in mind, but they’re incorrect regarding the voice participation of Rick Moranis.

Wait… wha… so, Moranis is IN now?

The Escapist made a post on all the new happenings with the Ghostbusters video game today, including the following paragraph;

In addition to the original four (Venkman, Egon, Stanz and Zeddmore), Rick Moranis will be reprising Louis Tully. Unfortunately, Sigourney Weaver (Dana) won’t be coming back. Instead you’ll just have to deal with Alyssa Milano as the love interest.

The emphasis is not mine, it’s theirs – they made a specific point of saying Moranis will be in the video game. I’m looking for additional confirmation now.

Of additional interest is the fact that over 70 people are testing the game (that’s, like… a lot of testers, though spread out over so many different systems, and effectively three different games, it’s not outright crazy), that wrangling ghosts is no longer annoying button mashing, but simply automatic after wearing the ghosts down (reminds me of taking out ghosts in the role-playing game a bit), and players have infinite traps, because the logistics of having only three traps is no fun!

[UPDATE] Atari has stated on the record that Rick Moranis is NOT in the game, as was originally understood and reported here at PC.

GB fan meets hero, forgets own name, remembers PC.

I don’t know what to say; long-time reader Nevil trekked out to meet Dan Aykroyd at a recent signing in Winnipeg, and after surviving the line, can barely contain his excitement – but somehow, loss of words aside, Nev somehow managed to plug Proton Charging to The Man himself. I suspect Dan hears a lot of names and suggestions at every signing, but it’s the thought that counts. Thanks Nev!
