This month’s Diamond distribution catalog is soliciting orders for a third (fourth if you count the Stay Puft variant) piggy bank! Shaped like the Ghostbusters logo light-sign from the front of the firehall, the SRP is $19.99US. The item is due to ship in September, if all goes well.

Last month’s Diamond catalog was soliciting orders for a replica Ecto-1 license plate, Series 2 Minimates and an exclusive two-pack, with glow-in-the-dark Slimer. It’s never too late! Check with your local comic shops now!

Is there a close up of the license plate? It looks like it’s $35?

  2. darren says:

how do i order the catalog?

  3. castewar says:

Web – it is $35, according to the catalog. It’s a full-sized replica that comes in a window display box.

Darren – you can pick up the catalog at your local comic shop, but if you’re there already, you might as well ask to look at their store copy for free. Or you can order through their website.

  4. I’m all for NEW GB merch. God Bless Diamond Select and Art Asylum for their many minmate and bank variants. No doubt I’m going to collect EVERYTHING. But I’ve had my reservations about that Ecto-1 plate replica since first seeing it earlier this year. It looks like cheap plastic and I can’t see justifying the price of 35 smakers. While there is a terrific eBay seller that I got my full metal 1:1 Ecto-1 replica plate for $20. He even carries an awesome Eto-1A replica plate that is just is well made. But I could be wrong, and time will tell…..

If it’s anything like the Back to the Future plate that I have from Diamond, it will be made out of metal just like a real plate. I ordered mine last month through my local comic shop & intend to put it right next to my BttF plate on my wall.

  6. I hope your right daledo6. I would love to be proven wrong.

I bought my ECTO 1 plate off that same eBay seller. 100% Screen Accurate, and way cheaper than the diamond select plate. I did pre-order the Sign Bank though…

How big is the bank? Would it work like a sign?

  9. Isn’t the design of New York State license plates copyrighted by New York State? If being a state design puts it in the public domain, like some government works are, then anyone could make one of these replica plates and it would be perfectly legal. Furthermore, considering it’s a simple design, and it’s gotta be very cheap to manufacture (it’s a simple “stamp it onto metal” procedure), I can’t see how it’s worth $35. At most it should cost $5.
