Hollywood tells Bollywood to cease-and-desist Ghostbusters remake.

While it was always unclear if it would get made, Columbia Pictures and Sony aren’t taking any chances that an Indian version of Ghostbusters doesn’t get made – many of the major Hollywood studios have filed with the Indian courts, seeking to have the movies shut-down.

Columbia has had tough words for the producers of the remake, but until now has never taken legal action.

This doesn’t mean the movie is dead for sure however – there still remains the option for Indian filmmakers to strike deals with the Hollywood rights-holders, as one film-maker did with his remake of 20th Century Fox’s My Cousin Vinny.
