Franchise updates: Charity, Wizardworld, and press props

[UPDATE]
The First Coast Ghostbusters are throwing a 26 anniversary party at Cafe 331 in Jacksonville, FL, June 26th!

First up, The Ghostbusters of New Hampshire got a write up in the – appropriately and hilariously – working stiffs section of the Boston Herald. The paper took at good look at the team and their charity work.

James, who estimates he’s approaching 100 viewings of the classic Bill Murray/Dan Aykroyd film, installs the electronic bells and whistles on the Ghostbusters’ proton packs used to weaken the immune systems of evil apparitions.

“Some guys play softball after work. Others work on their cars. We dress up as the ‘Ghostbusters,’ ” he says. “As we get older and have to worry about rent and student loans, it’s a great stress reliever to be able to put on a costume. It makes you feel like you are 5 years old again.”

Unlike the better known costumed “Star Wars” fan groups, such as the Fighting 501st Legion of Stormtroopers, the Ghostbusters have no masks to hide behind during photo-ops. Their outgoing personalities need to be turned on 100 percent of the time.

For anybody in the Philly area, The Philadelphia Ghostbusters will have a presence at Wizardworld Philadelphia this weekend (Fri-Sun) where they will unveil their new logo! Find them if you can and say hi!

And finally, some news from the Steel City GBs, for anybody that would like to help them raise some money for a good cause;
