Mafia 2 devs give nod to Ghostbusters

It’s a well known phenomenon, video game devs putting nods to their favourite films in their games. And certainly there is no lack of Ghostheads in video games. In fact, one of the oldest stories at Proton Charging is Valve Software’s homage to the world’s greatest invention, the proton pack.

Now 2K Games has tipped their hat at the film favourite, by putting the entire firehall in their newly-released Mafia 2. It certainly looks at home, as the turn-of-the-last-century building is practically new in the depression-era game.

Now, what I want to know, is that advertisement on the wall above the firehall a Stay-puft ad? Big ups to RPD for the heads up.

  1. EDFX says:

Is that a GB sign hanging on the front?

  2. Ash says:

Where is it located in the game? I played all weekend and didn’t see it, lol

  3. Ash says:

Found it. It’s at Central Park.

  4. peter says:

I cannot find this in the game, please help!

  5. In the video that GhostbustersNews.com just posted you get a good look at the sign hanging on the building. It says “Loans” on it with a picture of a smiling guy. I don’t have the game. but I’m guessing that you can’t go inside the building. It would have been cool if you had to go in there to meet a loan shark or something. Even cooler if the designers modeled the inside like the GB firehouse, too.
