Ghostbusters soundtrack exec, Murray Deutch, passes away.

Murray Deutch, credited in Variety and The Hollywood Reporter as being a music supervisor for Ghostbusters, passed away on October 2nd. He was 90 years old.

Deutch is uncredited in the film, but this is not unusual, as the articles suggest more that he worked, through his own music publishing company – Buttermilk Sky – on the Ghostbusters soundtrack, meaning his role was to facilitate the business requirements of creating a soundtrack album, not working directly on the film.

Our condolences to his family. You can read more about Deutch’s life and work, which includes the discovery of Buddy Holly, in this Variety article, or this Hollywood Reporter article.
