GB United has started a Franchise Handbook, a place where teams and members from the GB community can go to give advice and tips for people starting their franchise. Prop plans & reference materials are just the start- articles on starting your team, how to approach building an ecto, advice on making a website, charity networking, you name it. It’ll all be covered in the advice driven franchise handbook fueled by people like Bryan Fear of the West Coast Busters and Matt Burkit from the Philadelphia Ghostbusters. Both have offered their advice already in the handbook, giving tips on getting into franchising and starting your own Ecto project.
Ghostbusters United will soon be starting it’s Franchise Newsletter. Chris Sinquefield of the Northeast Texas Ghostbusters has offered to edit and put together a newsletter we’ll be sending out once every two months (skipping holiday season) to every franchise we’ve been given contact email for. Every issue will feature a spotlight on a franchise, an article showcasing major, upcoming franchise events such as Dragon Con, Busterpalooza, the Boston St Patty’s Parade, and more. The Franchise Spotlight will be fielded by Wess Roberts from the Ghostbusters of Salt Lake this first issue. Each newsletter will also be made available for download at Ghostbusters United, but if you’d like it emailed to you when we publish new issues, join GBU!
On a related note, Ghostbusters Canada is up and running – Ghostbusters.ca is similar in its mandate to Ghostbusters United, with a focus on Canadian fan franchises. That Maple Leaf Ghostbusters logo has come a long way since the University of Calgary Gauntlet production room, back in the ’90s.
