Comingsoon.net and Superhero Hype have posted some keen pics of Art Asylum’s Real Ghostbusters Minimates, which give us our first real look at the second pack of Wave 1, and both packs of Wave 2! The title card for Wave 1 can’t be seen, but are due out soon. Wave 2′s card says they are due out, at a Toys R Us near you, August of this year.

Um… I have to say… this line might actually be better than the movie versions. I mean, seriously… what 80′s baby GB / RGB fan didn’t want those ghosts as toys??? They look great!

I could do without Proton Pack Slimer or either of the Louis Tullys, but the rest are all winners. A Boogeyman figure at last–that by itself makes this awesome.
Wow… just wow. These have now made the top of my list for most-wanted toys of 2011. And I will buy multiples of these, for sure. Just amazing! Finally, the RGB Rogues Gallery gets its due. So awesome to see The Boogieman, Samhain and The Sandman in figure form at long last! I hope we also get The Grundel, Flip Side’s Peoplebusters and the Citizen Ghost Gozarian GB’s. I’d love a possessed Egon from Egon on the Rampage, too. “FREE TO DESTROY,” LOL!!! But hell, I’ll take whatever they can give us! Or for that matter, do every RGB ghost – I’ll buy them all!
It’s funny too – I have an extra Kenner Firehouse that will go perfect with this stuff – and it should even be more or less in would-be actual scale with these figures LOL!
Great job Art Asylum – you’ve got my money for sure.
It’s funny how we actually have two each of Janine (who’s only a part time Ghostbuster) and Louis (who’s mostly useless as a Ghostbuster), but only one each of the actual Ghostbusters.
That’s a natural for a future wave to fix, of course–the guys each had a “standard” civilian outfit in the series, so if the line continues (I hope I hope I hope) Venkman in his white sweater, Ray in his green sweater vest, Winston in his black and white shirt, and Egon with his pink shirt and suspenders would be a no-brainer.
I know, I’m getting ahead of things way too far (lol)
Not at all, Fritz. Those are great suggestions and would help to guarantee more pair-ups of the guys later on with various other ghosts from the series. Also, I’d add Egon in a Containment suit, Peter covered in yellow mood slime from “Partners in Slime,” Were-chicken Egon, Ray as Hoppy the Boot Bunny, heck – the list could go on and on.
Speaking of which, how in the hell could I forget to mention in my earlier post above… the one ghost I MUST HAVE…
Art Asylum – please, and I’M BEGGING YOU – PLEEEASE – make The Master of Shadows. I freaking love that dude. He has to be my favorite one-off villain from anything… like, EVER, lol. Such a pompous, blowhard demon with a hilarious voice and killer design. Love him!!! I need a toy. K thanks XD
I’ve never really like the look of the Minimates line. With these RGB figs, I totally hate the humans. They really exemplify why I hate the look of Minimates. However, all of the ghosts look awesome. Those characters actually translate very well into Minimates.
