Ontario ghostheads – meet Dan Aykroyd October 13th!

After a couple of years of “Skull bottles promote death. Wanna buy some cigarettes?”, it appears the province of Ontario has finally given into peer pressure and is now allowing the sale of Crystal Head vodka. The fact that it has become a popular vodka brand worldwide and is the brainchild of one of their favorite sons had nothing to do with it. Much. Probably.

Anyhow, to celebrate, Dan and the Crystal Head team will be holding a signing in North York on Thursday, October 13th from 4-6PM. The signing will be at LCBO #1 – 2625D Weston Road, Toronto-North York.

For those who haven’t been before, you have to buy a bottle for Dan to sign – typically either the least expensive Aykroyd wines, the two sizes of Crystal Head, all the way up to the pricey Patron. Dan is generally good about signing other swag as well, just don’t be that guy with a half hour of stuff to sign.

Canadian Halloween screenings!

This is separate from the October re-release of Ghostbusters. Cineplex cinemas across Canada will be showing Ghostbusters at 7PM on Halloween night. Here are the theaters we know of;

Ghostbusters re-release is weekly, starting October 13th! Sony makes it official!

Sony has released a press release today, covering the upcoming October re-release of Ghostbusters into theaters. This is the first official word that Sony is directly involved in the project, to be distributed by Park Circus.

Starting October 13th, and every Thursday afterwards in October (that’s three dates total, October 13th, 20th, and 27th) Ghostbusters will be screening in 500 cinemas across the US, select cities in Canada, and “certain international markets”, which basically means, “Major European Cities.” Exact cinemas aren’t online yet.

CULVER CITY, Calif., Sept. 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Get ready for mass hysteria! This October, Sony Pictures Repertory celebrates the original movie Ghostbusters, its franchise, and its fans by bringing the quintessential modern classic back to theatres for a special limited engagement of one showtime one night a week. Starting on Thursday, October 13, 2011 and continuing every following Thursday in October 2011, fans together will be able to see their favorite paranormal psychologists back on the big screen as they save the world from ghosts, ghouls, and Mr. Stay Puft.
