Just Because It’s Friday: Orchestral performance of GB theme

This isn’t new – a handful of orchestras, such as the Cincinnati Pops, have covered Ray Parker Jr’s Ghostbusters theme – but it’s rarely heard. And the accompanying photos are a fun treat.

I can’t compare right now, to say for sure which orchestra is performing this – if you think you know, say so. Otherwise, it’s Friday – just enjoy it.

Nods to Brendan at Cross the Streams for the find.

I was make this video. Thank you for posted it here. As “Ghostbusters” fan I appreciate a lot!.
    Nice web by the way.

The first half of this sounds suspiciously like the music used in the GB2 NES video game. Even the cheesy effort to take the vocal part and melodize it.

I feel really certain it’s Cincinnati. The cues just seem dead on and the almost ‘slapping’ of the piano is a defining characteristic I feel of the the Cincinnati Pops version… Version I’m used to is muddled with a bad vocalist though (I don’t understand the point), so there could be some factors I’m over looking…

That’s Peter Breiner and his orchestra http://www.amazon.com/Unchained-Melody/dp/B005OQBMYS

  6. The song is performed by Peter Breiner from the 1991 album “Peter Breiner & His Symphonic Pop Orchestra – Unchained Melody”. I ripped the song from my CD and uploaded it to Spook Central years ago.

  7. Limpwrist says:

The intro movement gives no hint that this is Ghostbusters, and then it hits you.
