The EMP Museum’s traveling show of Sci-Fi and Fantasy movie memorabilia – Out of this World: Extraordinary Costumes from Film and Television – which we first mentioned way back in 2009, only has two more stops this year. Beyond that, it’s not certain if the tour will continue, but by this point it’s been just about everywhere. Currently, the show, which features one of Dan Aykroyd’s jumpsuits from Ghostbusters 2, is in Midland, MI until this Sunday, at which point it moves to the Halifax Museum of Natural History for May 18th. It will remain there until August 26th, and then move to it’s last extended tour date in Naples, FL, before presumably returning home to Seattle, it’s permanent home.
Thanks to Justin for the heads up!

Doing a second take on vintage travel posters; graphic artist Justin Van Genderen includes a very familiar landmark for New York in this trio of movie-inspired posters. Selling for $40, there are still some available!
Remember that mysterious casting call for GB photo-doubles a few months back? Maybe it was for this ad campaign. To promote its 3D home theater sound-system, LG’s ad agency of choice, Y&R, has produced as series of posters showing famous movie posters from the back. Besides placement of mirror-image titles, text, and logos, the posters need people who look like the original actors from behind. No sign of the Ghostbusters poster yet – in fact, it’s possible the concept didn’t work well with the GB poster (notice how all the released ones have blank backgrounds, whereas GB had a horizon and sky) in which case we may never know for sure. But still – this makes total sense.
Thanks to Troy for the smart thinking.
