Ghosthead, screenplay writer (Fanboys), and author (Ready Player One and the upcoming Armada), Ernie Cline, has been working on his Ecto-88 since he sold his first novel – What's an Ecto-88? It's the hero's car/spaceship, in Ready Player One, wherein he creates an amalgam of the Ecto-1, KITT car, Buckaroo Banzai's rocket car, and the Back to the Future DeLorean. And while it will likely never go into space, Ernie's making the closest thing possible – and he sent in his most recent pics, now with detailing.
Another couple of years, I can't wait to see if he adds the Mr. Fusion plant and rocket vents… and Ecto lightbar… and KITT hood scanner…
