Had a chance to visit NYFD firehall Ladder 8, used for GBHQ exteriors? Well, if you haven't, you're going to have to wait awhile.

"Soon" the station will be closing for an interior gutting – meaning the iconic exterior will remain, but the interiors will be rebuilt almost entirely, replacing plumbing, wiring, and reinforcing the floor for modern engines.

The Downtown Express article says the closure could last three years. They are currently taking bids, so a safe guess would be you have at least until Fall. No word on whether the exterior will be obscured in any way, so outdoor photos by tourists may not be a problem.

  • Like The Ghostbuster!

The Goldbergs episode "Bill/Murray" (5/6/2015) (s02e23)One of the plots of this episode revolves around Adam's father, Murray (Jeff Garlin) , becoming friends with his son's girlfriend's father, Bill (David Koechner). When a bartender (Jim Titus) notes that their names form "Bill Murray", "like the Ghostbuster", they bond over their love of his films. David Koechner does a decent Bill Murray imitation, quoting his lines from Caddyshack, and "The flowers are still standing" line from Ghostbusters when the two guys watch the movie on TV. For reasons of not paying royalties, Bill is never shown in the clip, and the audio only includes the sound of the glasses falling off the table. Yeah, I know, you *should* hear the dialog, even with David speaking over it.

Promoting her new movie, Kristen Wiig was, predictably, asked about Ghostbusters.

Q: How do you feel about the "all female" label on the new "Ghostbusters" reboot you're leading with a female cast?

A: Even when I was doing press for "Bridesmaids," people kept calling it a female comedy. I was like, 'Can't we just call it a comedy? We don't say male comedy.' I think that also implies that only women want to see it, and I don't think that's the case. Funny is funny.

Q: Which Ghostbusters character are you most like – Peter Venkman (Bill Murray), Raymond Stantz (Dan Aykroyd) or Egon Spengler (Harold Ramis)?

A: Bill Murray. Venkman for sure.
