The Daily Show graphics department managed to slip a little Ghostbusters love into the opening to the Don't Worry You're Not Paranoid segment…

Jeez, did the Spook Central documentary trailer light a fire. From when I first got Ivo Shandor's email Sunday night (they're in Australia), dozens of entertainment website picked up the story, including Entertainment Weekly. Then today the second wave started, asking, is it real?

A few pointed out that the end credits at the end of the trailer reveal "Michael H. Beck" as the director, who has a documentary credit on IMDB. Also, we asked Ivo when the movie would be out, something not included in the email – we were told late September.

On the other hand, a few smarty-pants point out that there's no IMDB listing or website for the movie, which isn't a great argument, seeing as Cleanin' Up The Town: Remembering Ghostbusters (Documentary) doesn't have a listing or website either, just the Facebook page.

But, some smarter-smarty-pants at IGN pointed out; "I suspect someone is having one over on us, as a close look at the credits reveal at least two dead magazine editors (Bernarr McFadden and Barney Crillon), a dead mystery writer (Mary Rhinehart), and a dead theatrical producer (David Belalasco), all misspelled. Either that, or this film crew has some serious juice with the afterlife."

Voice Over stars to read fan spec script of Ghostbusters 3!

I was emailed an invite yesterday, but as he went public with it at Ghostbusters facebook page today, I guess it's OK. Ghosthead Philip Bache, like many fans, has ideas of what GB3 should be and based on those fan wishes, plus the tid-bits floating around the last two decades, Philip wrote a spec script. And as he is a voice acting director, with access to voice talent, he's organizing a one-night reading of that script. It's pretty bold. I only wish I could be there.

"This exclusive event is a live reading of a fan ‘spec’ Ghostbusters 3 script written by Philip Bache. The script will be read ‘live’ by major voice-over talent. The cast is what makes this event so unique. This is a one-of-a-kind, one-night-only event. Many people, press, and industry talent / executives are being invited to the read-through. The cast and script promises to be something not to be missed. The voice talent that will be attending have been in numerous beloved shows and films with cult fan-bases of their own."
