Mark Nelson, who wrote notable RGB episodes Ain’t NASA-Sarily So, Masquerade, and The Bird of Kildarby, passed away from natural causes on January 3rd. Mark was a Hollywood vet and long-time supporter of LA’s Magic Castle. Our sympathies to his family and friends. Jonathan Cardwell sent a link to Amazon, which is now listing the second volume of their trade paperback collection of the on-going Ghostbusters series. Volume 1 is due out in March (featuring the Nick Runge Abbey Road cover), while Volume 2 is due out in July (no cover shown yet.)

I highly recommend supporting your local comic shop by picking these books up from them, but in a pinch, you can also order online via Amazon, which is nice to know. It’s also a fair bet GBFans’ shop will also carry some.

The Porch in Key West, FL, loves Ghostbusters.

Dan Schwab shared this awesome picture he did for The Porch, a bar in Key West. Here’s his explanation;

There is a haunted bar called “The Porch”, here in Key West and they enjoy cool 1980′s stuff, like I do. So I did this little bit of art for them, as GB is my all-time fave flick.

The glasses often fly off the racks, (I don’t believe in ghosts, but I have seen it. I’m sure there is a rational explanation.) And I have Winston watching coins drop out of nowhere, because Dr. Porter, who owned the mansion the bar is in, used to take coins as his payment when he treated locals for Yellow Fever, and now coins show up out of nowhere, (supposedly).

If you find yourself down here in the Southernmost city, you’ll see this pic on the wall of the Porter Mansion’s bar, “The Porch.”

LEGO Cuusoo is a third party site that takes third party LEGO designs and sells them as kits. They also have the attention of LEGO. After reaching 10K names, LEGO agreed they would look at Minecraft as a LEGO license. Which is cool and all, but that inspired this new petition; 10K names and LEGO will evaluate the possibility of getting the Ghostbusters license. How can you help? Sign the petition. How can you help more? Spread the word so more people will sign. 10,000 is nothing – if everyone reading the site today signed, we could take care of it ourselves and have names to spare! Let’s see if we can make this happen!
