GB producer sells priceless GB item.

Those of you who have read the Making Ghostbusters book will recall that Sigourney Weaver wrote a humourous poem to
read at the wrap party for Ghostbusters. Well, associate producer on the film, Michael C. Gross, is
auctioning
the item off on eBay. The price is steep, but the item itself is amazing. No confirmation on the validity of the
item has been made as yet, but it appears genuine. Start counting your pennies.

GB script by committee.

Tired of waiting, forever waiting, for a third Ghostbusters movie? Forget about it, make your own! Well, not entirely on your own.
Fanlibs is a
community driven script creation site, where people submit new scenes to an ongoing script - other members get to review and vote on your
scene and the winner gets added to the forever growing script.
And how do they know when to quit you might ask? I don’t know, it’s still too young a site - they haven’t finished a script yet, but the
test run is a Ghostbusters script - Ghostbusters: The Things that Ate Hollywood!.
“A former drive-in movie producer dreams of making one last great (well, LARGE) creature-feature. But now, Tinseltown is cruel to the old master (er, incessant hack). When a fatal accident delivers him to the ectoplasmic underworld, his monstrous celluloid creations go on a vengeful rampage among the living!”
The site is pretty feature filled, including a system
of automatically formatting your submission into proper script style. Nice!
At the very least it’s something new for GB fans to read and if you’ve always wanted to try your hand at writing,
why not contribute something?

GB Spectrum articles.

Thanks to Dark Lotus on the GB message board, I was able to follow a vein of articles and information from an old UK magazine that
focused on Spectrum games (the Spectrum was THE gaming system of choice in the UK in the mid-80s). Included in the find were
a preview article just
prior to the release of The Real Ghostbusters game (which covers some interesting material about the movie, the UK comic, as well as the game),
a review of the game an issue later, and the
preview cover, which featured art that obviously used the toys for reference (note the
roof gun chair and the Slimer that looks just like his action figure).

New GB Comics announced.

Sony Consumer Products released a press release today announcing the upcoming publication of a new GB comic. Details on the comic, other than that
it will be produced by 88mph studios (makers of some recent kick-ass Transformers art books) and that the series will begin this fall, are slim. But so what? They’re making a comic! And
according to the release, “graphic novels, art books and trade paperbacks, posters, lithographs and wall scrolls.” Sweeeeeeet.
[UPDATE: 88mph Studios have posted a teaser image on their website and say there will be a GB comic website up by next week.]

Ramis interviewed at DVD IGN.

Stopped to briefly talk about DVDs, Harold Ramis had a couple of things to say about working with Bill Murray and
on the Ghostbusters movies.
“Running around Manhattan in New York in those Ghostbusters suits, and driving that ambulance around. That was a lot of fun.”

Florida car museum sells off Ecto-1.

After falling on hard times, Klassix Auto Attraction
sold off it’s collection of TV and movie vehicles. Amoung them was
an Ecto-1 (there is no confirmation that the car was used on-screen or if it was a car-show replica), which sold for
$55,000US - a price higher than anyone expected. While not named, the ghostbusting vehicle was apparently sold to a museum in
Illinois (anyone who might know where, please feel free to contact me).
Besides the Ecto-1, the auction also saw the sale of The Batmobile (one of 5 used on the show), K.I.T.T., and the motocycles
from CHiPs.

LSP brings more EGB to gamers.

After taking nearly a year to hit North American shores with their last Extreme Ghostbusters game, “Code-Red”, LSP are set to release yet another EGB game. “Extreme Ghostbusters: The Ultimate Invasion” is for Playstation (you remember, that thing in your closet that came before the PS2) and so far only announced for PAL machines (meaning European fans can rejoice, NA fans are out of luck). An action-shooter, Ultimate Invasion is a Ghostbusters themed shooting gallery, with players being able to play any of the four, young, EGBs and zapping the town clear of ghosts using a Playstation compatible light-gun.
Amazon.fr lists the game as being available June 1st and there are no listing on gaming retailer websites outside of France so far, but we can only hope they’ll port it for NTSC and make it available soon to North American retailers.
