Update of UMD cover?
Posted on June 25, 2005

On a seperate page on the Sony website, the above image is used for the upcoming UMD release of Ghostbusters for the PSP. The first image seen used the same cover as the original DVD release, but this new cover is the same as the upcoming DVD, 2-disc box set, which makes a tad more sense - however, until Sony gets it’s wires uncrossed and picks a single cover, it’s hard to say for certain if this is the actual cover going to be used.

Thanks to my buddy Toren for the original sketch of a silly idea. Like I said, sometimes the ideas in my head need to be let out.

Dancing Slimer hitting stores now
Posted on June 22, 2005
Randy Falk at NECA was kind enough to confirm that Dancing Slimer is dancing his way into stores as I type this. He also confirmed that the GB theme Slimer wiggles to was specially recorded for the toy, as speculated. You can blame Huey Lewis I guess.

Dancing Slimer… dancing
Posted on June 17, 2005

While a hard shelf date hasn’t been announced (July is as specific as it gets) at least one of NECA’s Dancing Slimer figures has made it out into the real world (suggesting that the wiggly toy could be in stores any time now.) One ebay auction for the slimer has appeared, and unlike the usual spate of pre-orders disguised as auctions, this listing actually has video footage of the dancing spud. As it seems to take forever to load on the auction page (and as not to put any unfair stress on their bandwidth) you can download the clip from PC. Please, if you’re going to want to watch it more than once, right-click to download the file onto your local machine.
The song is a little hard to hear, but it doesn’t sound like the Ray Parker Jr. version. It doesn’t actually sound like any version, which may mean it was produced specifically for the toy. The video also provides a nice look at the packaging, which is simlar to the open box the Stay Puft 18″ figure came in.

Custom RGB thrower available
Posted on June 14, 2005

I erred in my last post - Justin didn’t have molds made for the backpacks, though he says it’s a simple enough thing to have done, rather he spraypainted them black (like you see in the picture.) In any case, he received the throwers he had replicated and they look pretty cool. His plan is to use one for each of the 6 RGB characters (Ray, Peter, Winston, Egon, Janine, and Louis) - and extra he will be selling on eBay. For those of you that can’t wait, Transrepro.com (the guys that made the molds for Justin) is selling them for $5.
UPDATE: Transrepro is a small operation, so anyone ordering from them should bear this in mind and be patient waiting for their order to be filled. Justin is apparently planning to get the packs made in black as well, but that won’t be for some time yet. If there is sufficent interest, Justin has plans to get molds made for RGB figure-suitable PKE meters and ghost traps.

Custom RGB action figure packs
Posted on June 10, 2005
Justin Anderson has been sending me updates on a little project he’s been working on - by taking the neutrona wand from the Green Ghost Kenner figure and marrying it to a slightly modified RGB proton pack, he’s got a more movie-like pack for his RGBs. Oh, but the fun doesn’t stop there - Justin has gone out and had black plastic copies made of both pieces, so the packs aren’t painted or the original blue / red plastics. Word is he’ll have the finished products soon enough - with luck he’ll send pics. With even more luck, he’ll think about making them available to other fans.
In the meantime, Justin has started working on a more ambitious Kylie mod that better reflects how she looks on the show and he outlined some other plans that are crazy! I can’t wait to see em.
