Aykroyd sets the record straight - no GB3
Posted on May 31, 2006

Dan Aykroyd was briefly on CTV today, as eTalk Daily visited him on a photoshoot at his new Ontario vineyard (the photos will accompany a cover feature on Air Canada’s En Route magazine. The segment was short, but to the point. In just over one minute, Aykroyd confirmed that he’s shifting his focus away from acting into business ventures, that GB3 is not going to be made, and that all those reports and quotes about GB3, attributed to Harold Ramis, are false.
[UPDATE] There’s a YouTube version of the clip as well.

Cleanin’ up the Town music video found
Posted on May 31, 2006
Thanks to the magic of YouTube and everybody posting any and all video they have lying around, this video for Cleanin’ up the Town, by The Bus Boys, has surfaced. The video quality is harsh, but it’s still a fun watch.
Big nod to robert knippels for spotting this gem.

Replica Ecto-1 plates
Posted on May 31, 2006
I had a good laugh at the beginning of X-men 3, when Xaviers car rolls up and has an old-style New York plate. Ah, the 80s.
Travis Bell has spent a lot of blood, sweat, and tears producing 100 replica Ecto-1 plates, and he’s offering some of them for sale - got a replica car and need a good plate? Live some place where your front plates don’t have to mirror your back plates? Want one to put on your wall? Well, here’s your chance - I haven’t seen replica Ecto-1 plates since Startifacts was offering them, way back when, so consider this opportunity knocking.
Interview: Rick Moranis
Posted on May 27, 2006

On the first day of February, 2006, I paid the minor price of waking up early on the West coast in order to talk to someone on the East coast, someone whom I’ve been dying to talk to for years.
After taking time off to be with his family, Rick Moranis became a head scratcher - what’s he up to? Always popular, it seemed unlikely Rick wasn’t being sought out for film roles. The occasional article here and there dropped hints that the reason Rick wasn’t all over the silver screen was because Rick wasn’t interested. So, if someone as funny and talented as him isn’t interested in movies much these days, what was he interested in?
Then one day we all found out. Through Artist Share, a unique, online collection of creative types, Rick released The Agoraphobic Cowboy - a collection of solid and very funny tunes with a country, folk, bluegrass, stripped down, acoustic quality. It seemed like the perfect chance to talk to the man about his music as well as his part in cinematic comedy history.

GB score CD - 2500+ gone. Get yours now.
Posted on May 22, 2006
The Varese Sarabande website is still offering the Ghostbusters score, by Elmer Bernstein, though the site says that out of 3000 produced, less than 500 remain. If you haven’t grabbed one yet, time is running short.
UPDATE - All CDs are completely sold out. Hope you got yours in time.

Please…
Posted on May 19, 2006
No more emails about the IGN / Contactmusic.com / some blog that references either IGN or Contactmusic.com news item about GB3. It’s bogus. They have a script. They did think about Ben Stiller starring at one point. Harold Ramis is not sitting at home sewing the new costumes right this second.
It’s pure, internet sensationalism, and it’s not valid.

Google Maps Guide to Ghostbusters
Posted on May 17, 2006
When Google Earth was released, I wondered how long it would take for someone to make a guide to Ghostbusters. The answer? Uh, about a year and a half? I guess.
Ironic Sans has put together a topological look at all the New York shooting locations for Ghostbusters. Not that it outdoes the highly informative NYGB Tourguide, but it’s still a nice visual look at all those famous NY locations.

The article that just won’t die
Posted on May 16, 2006
E.Y. sent in a link to IGN, that references that awful WENN news item from last year. Stax has read the GB3 script, so his article is a lot more level headed, but he still picked up on the Ben Stiller item, which is so old as not to be credible any more.
UPDATE - Oh good, it’s starting all over.
In the wake of IGN’s post regarding GB3, Contactmusic.com has boiled the entire article down to a couple of dozen words, which comes out as “Aykroyd pens GB3 script, Bill Murray to be replaced by Ben Stiller.” This is turn get’s picked up by a dozen blogs, who are now reporting that Ben Stiller is replacing Bill Murray, which isn’t what the original article said at all.
I hate the internet.
UPDATE - I’d like to initiate Cinescape and the Internet Movie Database into the Too Lazy To Research club. Well done lads. Thanks for helping sort things out.

Back from LA - Hardcover barely on life support
Posted on May 16, 2006
I’m back, semi-rested, and commenters drank everything in my booze cabinet - nice.
For whomever asked, yes, I was at E3, but didn’t get to see much, as I was hustling my can all the time. I did get a look at Dead Rising, which is zombies, not ghosts, but is a lot of fun.
The big news upon my return is Sebastien retreating from the public eye until he has good news about the GB hardcover, which may mean we never see Seb again. For those of you who want to complain, feel free to do-so in a constructive manner. For those of you who want to complain that Proton Charging made you buy the book (you know how you are) and now you feel ripped off and want to blame me, get stuffed. Caveat Emptor, fanboy - welcome to the club, we all got bit.
UPDATE - Paul at Spook Central spotted awhile back a new forum for grousing about the Hardcover. It sounds like a good home for anyone with a gripe to air.
