Cleanin’ up the Town music video found

Posted on May 31, 2006

Thanks to the magic of YouTube and everybody posting any and all video they have lying around, this video for Cleanin’ up the Town, by The Bus Boys, has surfaced. The video quality is harsh, but it’s still a fun watch.

Big nod to robert knippels for spotting this gem.

    Pretty cool. So, does anyone know how to download videos that are displayed through a Shockwave Flash shell (like on YouTube)? It would be nice to keep a copy of this video on my computer and save it in my personal collection.

    Thanks for telling us about KeepVid.com. I’m checking it out now.

    That site works like a charm. I just downloaded the Bus Boys video. Here’s a link to download it:

    The Bus Boys - Cleanin’ Up The Town Music Video (.flv file)
    http://www.keepvid.com/?url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBfo_QyVvRc
    (2:53, 7.2 Mb)

    Note, if you can’t play FLV files, my codec pack of choice has the FLV codec (and many others, plus a player):

    K-Lite Mega Codec Pack
    http://www.codecguide.com/download_mega.htm
    [ Version 1.53 | 34.0 MB | April 23rd 2006 ]

    The “FLV Splitter” (as the codec is called) is also available in a smaller codec pack:

    K-Lite Codec Pack - Full
    http://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm
    [ Version 2.72 -Full- | 18.2 MB | April 23rd 2006 ]

    Of course you don’t have to use either of these two codec packs. On the KeepVid site is a link to a FLV Player. I’ve never tried it, but I’d imagine that it would do the job nicely.

    From the few minutes of research I just did (ok, I just followed lots of links), I found that there are other video download sites as well:

    The video has since been deleted from YouTube. The good news is that a better and more complete copy can be found on my site - along with other Ghostbusters music videos, too.

    You see, I just added a whole slew of Ghostbusters music videos to my site, including ones that most people don’t even know exist!

    GHOSTBUSTERS
    http://spookcentral.cjb.net/gb1_music.htm
    * “Ghostbusters” — Ray Parker Jr.
    * “Cleanin’ Up The Town” — The Bus Boys
    * “Hot Night” — Laura Branigan
    * “Magic” — Mick Smiley
    * “Disco Inferno” — The Trammps

    GHOSTBUSTERS II
    http://spookcentral.cjb.net/gb2_music.htm
    * “Higher And Higher” — Jackie Wilson
    * “On Our Own” — Bobby Brown
    * “Ghostbusters” — RUN-D.M.C.

And much much more! Click here for older news -->
