Hudson makes annual ComicCon appearance, some GB3 talk
Posted on July 22, 2006
Promoting Snoop Dogg’s new horror film, Snoop Dogg Hood of Horror (say that five times fast), Ernie Hudson was inevitably asked about GB3 and gave a familiar answer.
“I’ve been hearing about Ghostbusters 3 for 20 years… Harold would love to [do it] and Dan would… Bill is the hold-out.”
This has been a stock answer for ten years now, but again, it’s always nice to hear that the gang is still willing, should production ever begin.

[update] Whoops. The IGN writer credited Harold Ramis with being the director of both the movies. But everything you read online is cold, hard fact, right Patrick?
[update] Some quick fact checking took place, and the article now lists Ramis as co-star.

Yeah, it has been seen. Sadly the fan production of the game is no longer continuing.
Frankly, any GB3 news that comes out of IGN should be approached with a teen foot cattle prod following their recent claims.
I agreee, it is all rumor. A lot of people on imdb.com cave trouble realizing this. I want another GB movie but it’s not in the cards. Aykroyd himself said that it wasn’t likely.
Ghostbusters 3 would be cool, but what about a animated movie featuring the Real Ghostbusters?
now that would be cool!!
I have also thought that the GB3 script would work well as a RGB piece.
I’ll believe it when I see a press release. Now an RGB movie would be cool and more likely than a live action film.
I don’t think anyone is lying here. Did you guys know that gullible is not in the dictionary?
True the original RGB cast are unknown to new audiences, but it would make more sense to do a ‘Ghostbusters in hell’ scenerio in animation rather than live action
Bill Murray is great… but c’mon man lay off the artsy crap and entertain us for a couple hours. His lame-assed Japanese Karaoke Jam, and Jaques Cousteau movies put me to sleep.
I agree with you Nate. Although I liked those movies because Bill Murray was in them, he should do something entertaining and hilarious. Maybe he won’t seem so bored.
What about a non-RGB animated feature film with Murray, Ayckoyd, Ramis and Hudson using thier voices to reprise their roles, and character designs heavily based on their younger selves? It’ll never happen, but it’ll be a way to keep the same characters and actors without having to use the “I’m too old for this crap!” scenario.
Below is the “latest” news about GB3 (written three days after the Ernie news, it’s the most recent news so far).
Be sure to watch the video to hear it from Ivan himself. Now if this doesn’t confirm to non-believers that the project is NOT happening, I don’t know what will.

Ivan Reitman: Ghostbusters Unlikely
Written by Robert Sanchez
Tuesday, 25 July 2006
Ernie Hudson this weekend over at Comic-Con seemed a bit hopeful about a new Ghostbusters film, but is something in the works?
No, not at all, at least according to the Producer and Director of the films, Ivan Reitman.
We met with the filmmaker during the Junket for My Super-Ex Girlfriend in New York and we had to ask about two possible sequels.
The first up Old School 2, which he was able to confirm, is in the works. The second, the beloved Ghostbusters, “stale” is what he called the franchise and seemed pretty sure there is nothing in the works.
