The stuff that i saw on the web regarding that leaked video game footage looked iffy. It showed potential, but nowhere near what video game systems are capable of today.

Several years ago, while playing the arcade firefighter game with the hose, I though, 'this would be a fantastic way to implement a Ghostbusters' game. Sure enough, the internet buzz is about GB being developed for Wii (no confirmation of this but rather wishful thinking) and what the game could do.

The video game leaked footage lacked use of traps, it lacked any real goal, no voices, the environments needed some more immersion, some music needed to be added, and the point of view could be from 1st person with just the wand present in the screen.

If you close your eyes, and just listen to GB, it really is half the experience. One can easily identify the Ectomobile by the siren, the firing up of the proton packs, the discharging of the wands, and the sounds of the traps. These need to be key elements in any GB next-gen console game.

The game should utilize existing characters but open up the world to new ones as well as client created ones.

There is no reason why Ghostbusters cannot continue in various media. The idea is still as good today as it was in the 80's and there's perhaps more material to work with in terms of ghosts, spirits, paranormal, and monsters than back then. The logo is instantly recognizable and the music takes us back to a time when we all had optimistic views on life.

Sony knows they have a potential winning card in their hands, they're just being careful to play it at the right time. Hopefully.

There won't be two games - it's unlikely for two companies to hold the game rights at the same time. More likely, though not confirmed, is that Zootfly could develop the game and VUE publishes the game, as you said.

Brilliant news! Quite surprising also! I'm didn't think that they'd go to the trouble of hiring Aykroyd. I think the VUE game that Aykroyd will be producing the motion capture for though is the same game as the one which Zootfly are working on. If they are too seperate games then boy is that a cooincidence because we havn't had a Ghostbusters game, based on the movies that is, for about fifteen years! I just hope they are two different games! Go Danny!

Alright! The Zootfly game looked sweet, but Aykroyd's involved with this one. I wonder if they'll get Hudson and Ramis? It's just understood Murray will have nothing to do with it. Then again, he did do TWO Garfield movies recently... (That's not a slam against America's favorite fat, orange cat, BTW. I'm just saying he's not opposed to voice over work)
