Movie’s Greatest Cars & Stephen K. Who?

Posted on March 25, 2007

I’m sorry, who is Stephen K. Amos? And why, as a comedy writer, does he think Ghostbusters is “appalingly dull”? In fact, the presenter is pretty catty about it too. Still, it’s nice to see a clip from the Greatest Movie Cars show, which aired over a year ago - and it’s nice to see that Sony is apparently working to preserve the car.

Speaking of the Ecto-mobile, back in 1989, some lucky Coke drinker won a replica. Who won is still a bit of a mystery, but the TV ad promoting the contest is kind of cool to see. Thanks to GozerJr for spotting that one.

The footage of E1a is from the delete scene where ray goes nuts

Stephen K. Amos is British. So, maybe he was trying to be sarcastic, but ended sounding sincere. It’s hard to tell. ;^)

    No, he’s being a jerk.

I’m Canadian - we know when British people are being sarcastic or sincere. ;)

I entered SO many entries for an Ecto 1A through a FUJI film contest - anyone heard of that?

Us Proptopia members believe that shot of Ecto-1 and the suggestion of restoration was taken before she made her appearance on The Morning Show for the DVD plugging…

But it’s nice to see deleted footage from the ‘Ray drives crazy’ scene, and someone who’s taken the time to replicate the tile pattern in that Firehouse set.

I am very pleased to see that finally, Sony Pictures is restoring the Ecto-1. They’ve put it off too long. When I first saw the photos of Ecto-1 on GBprops.com, I was very dissappointed that the car was just neglected as if it was a piece of junk.
