Mr. Geoff Jones dropped me a line about his new blog, which is keeping track of all theatrical showings of Ghostbusters. If you’re looking to catch it on the big screen, check it out. And even if you’re not, if you know of a screening, you should let him know, so he can add it to his list.
At almost the exact same time, Ecto Ernie dropped me a line to let me know that the Sunshine Cinema in New York City is showing Ghostbusters at midnight, from now until Saturday, July 7th. Lots of chances to catch it there.

I attended the Friday night showing. Large, pretty enthusiastic crowd–a good number of people reciting lines throughout.
It is a very different experience watching Ghostbusters with a live audience, and on such a big screen. (I noticed for the first time Coke and Diet Coke cans on the left side of the firehouse’s garage area–presumably more product placement that was cropped out of the fullscreen VHS tapes.)
i saw the last midnite showing of ghostbusters in NYC last weekend, it was amazing to see it on the big screen and it was the original reel too, not just the dvd being played. it was the best thing ever to see it like that.
