I wasn’t aware of this, but the duly elected representatives of New York (city, county, or state, I do not know) have a TV channel. And on that TV channel, they have a show called Secrets of New York. The new, third season has started, and the episode looks at Tribeca as a filming location, which of course includes the good ol’ Hook and Ladder 8 building (the host of the show can be seen posing in front of it, the GB2 sign clearly visible in the background.)
The show aired on Tuesday, but will air again this Sunday at 8:30 (5:30 PST) – those of us not in New York can watch online via streaming video.
TriBeCa: Mysteries of New York’s Backlot Revealed
…As a neighborhood, TriBeCa has evolved and re-defined itself many times throughout the centuries. Today, its iconic buildings and cobblestone streets serve as backdrops for some of Hollywood’s biggest features. And its annual film festival draws thousands of filmgoers from around the world. TriBeCa has truly emerged as one of New York City’s premier neighborhoods.
Cheers to Wheelhouse for the heads up.

Finally! I find out about a TV program BEFORE it airs (or re-airs, in this case). And on top of that, I actually get the channel.
For those living on Long Island, NYC TV is channel 25 on Verizon Fios.
Did anyone tape this episode? Was it good? I’m not in the area. Thanks!
I tuned in on 9/16 at 8:30 PM EST, but this particular episode was not on. The episode entitled “New York Firsts: Pioneering Moments in NYC History” was on instead (it’s apparently the seventh episode in season two according to the NYC.gov website). Perhaps Chris and/or the nyc.gov website got it wrong. The website says “Premieres: Tuesdays at 8:00 PM, Encores: Sundays at 8:30 PM”. Perhaps the TriBeCa episode premiered on Sunday (9/9) and repeated on Tuesday (9/11), not the other way around. I don’t know what’s correct and what isn’t, I just know that the TriBeCa episode wasn’t on this past Sunday. I didn’t watch this past Tuesday, and don’t plan to watch any further episodes as the tv lsitings at Zap2It.com don’t show it as airing anytime soon (they were correct for this past Stunday’s episode, by the way).
Sorry for the two typos in my last post.
lsitings = listings
Stunday’s = Sunday’s
Though I’m sure you that you figured out what I meant to type
