If you don’t live in the UK, you probably don’t know who Danny Wallace is, but over there, he’s an author and TV personality (actually, he’s an author over here too, really) – soon, you’ll see Jim Carrey in a movie based on one of his books (Yes Man.) But for now, that doesn’t matter. All you need to know is that he’s Ghostbusters fan. How big a fan?
Well, in the UK they have a trivia show, Mastermind, where the players get to pick their area of expertise – Wallace picked Ghostbusters. And then proceeded to rock the category.

The chosen subject only really accounts for half of a person’s time on an episode of Mastermind as the other half of their time is allocated to answering general knowledge questions that don’t relate to their chosen subject.
Holy shit that was great!
This was SOOO Awesome! Did any ghostbuster fan proud for sure. It was fun answering along with him too.
Very nice! None of the questions were uber hard but none of them were simple either; definitely fan questions.
Just watched for the 1st time – I got 19 out of 19!
is he single and will he marry me?
I got them all. The only particularly difficult ones, IMO, were Saint Jerome, Camp Waconda, and “How is Elvis, and have you seen him lately?”
I always thought it was Camp Ocanda
sad that I didnt know…I do have the script in its entirety…
Saint Jerome I got and the Elvis one took a sec…under pressure is tough
I read his book “Join Me!” based on his experiences with that whole situation, but I wasn’t overly impressed. I knew I recognized him from somewhere (He’s on the cover of the book) The questions weren’t very difficult, but he did it for charity, so all the power to him.
The due wrote a book based on his experiences on the game show? Thats a bit much…
No, the whole situation he’s referring to is in the book, and is briefly mentioned in the show. It’s pretty cool – he basically took out an add that only said “Join Me” and contact info – 6 years later there are tens of thousands of members and they commit regular random acts of kindness, raise funds, etc.
That’s pretty cool. In case anyone is interested, I typed up the 17 questions he was asked. I left out the answers, in case you want to quiz yourself.
