A month back we had a tiny look at the Blu-Ray two-disc collectors pack, containing both Ghostbusters movies and the small tub of slime that comes with it, but of course we’ve known for awhile that the set was due to contain more. And now we can have a tiny look at some of that “more.”
Proving that you should always take a cursory look at all the promotional materials that come in a swag bag, I was cleaning out my office and while tossing out the odds and ends I brought back from PAX, I discovered an ad in VB magazine’s special Comic-Con and PAX 2008 collector’s issue. Sadly, the date still reflects an October release that has been pushed back now, as far as we know, but it’s a nice look at some of the other stuff that comes in the set, such as the collectors cards – and look at that Stay-Puft statue (click for larger version than above)!

Thats! Awsome!, I hpoe the come out with a Slimer statue too, or ‘collector edition’ Ray, Peter, Winston, and Egon figures. Talk about $$$$$$$!

I don’t know how into this I am – I have bought Ghostbusters countless times on multiple formats and I’m not keen on buying it again – I already have a stay-puft toy or two… I’m just going to wait for the super HD digital version in a few years when they phase discs out all together. There is no way i’m buying this again.
I don’t have a blu-ray player so I wonder if I should get this. I mean, I guess it’d be nice to have in a collection or something.
I so can’t wait for this. I love it! i don’t care if I’ll own multiple copies of the movies. i just want the swag that comes with it.
Stay Puft’s proportions look way off. He must be on a diet, look at those legs.
He must have been working out on an enormous treadmill.
This is one of the few movies I WILL be buying again in the Blu Ray format. I have a PS3 and I must admit, while I’m not going to be re-buying many old dvd in bluray, everything new I’m buying is.
It was previously mentioned that the “limited-edition DVD double-feature gift set” comes “packaged with a collectible scrapbook, Stay Puft Marshmallow Man figurine, trading cards and slime.” Upon seeing this photo, I’m convinced that it’s simply an “as is” re-release of the 2005 box set, bundled with the Stay Puft figurine, cards, and slime. Since I didn’t think too highly of that re-release because of no new extras and they altered the movie colors, I’m really saddened that nothing better is done with the 25th anniversary release.
Yeah; that does suck. The Amazon product page for this item saying “this item has been discontinued by the manufacturer” makes me feel desolate…to think they waited ’til like two days before the release date to post that piece of info…warped all around, I’ll say!
This green “cover” is still ugly. They’re melking the collectors with cheap editions.
