Atari has released a new trailer, which features some amazing stuff, when compared to the amazing-in-its-own-right teaser released by Activision earlier in the year. Not only do we get a better look at the boys, we get to hear them quip! Plus, keep an eye out for our favorite EPA bureaucratic. The only thing notably absent (or more accurately, hard to see) in the trailer is The Rookie – I was kind of wondering if they’d keep the original model, seeing as it was based on Sierra producer Ryan French.
Thanks to the TONNES of you that sent in links and a reminder to all of you that opted to post in comments – that’s not the best way to let PC readers know, as PC readers don’t consistently read the comments. Please send that stuff my way, so I can be sure to put it front and center, where it deserves to be.
[UPDATE] The PC Flickr photo-set of the trailer can be found here. The Rookie does show up more than I’d at first thought, but he is still way less Ryan-looking than before, I think. Time will tell.

I think it looks “cartoon-like” because its essentially like a computer animated “movie”.
Most of that trailer was made from cut scenes by the looks of it as well, so that may have somthing to do with it. (Not that that’s a bad thing in ANY way)
I think.. I’m going to cry. This is so awesome! 2008 is actually going to end on a high note!

Much better without half the footage being from the movie. That was a terrific trailer. It’s great to come on this website and be totally blind sided with such a HUGE development in this game saga

I was mind-blown when I saw that trailer. The trailer itself looks like is promoting “Ghostbusters III”. The CGI Peck was spot-on (Looks like “Dickless” is going to be a possessed enemy).
I’m guessing that was Brian-Doyle Murray’s mayor character wearing the top hat with the two girls at the start of the trailer.
I also love Ray’s quote, “I didn’t do it this time, I swear! “

I must have watched this 10 times at work today! My poor colleagues were rolling their eyes! I am so excited! It truly looks wonderful – even my wife was wowed and excited by it! What with this and my newly received RGB set – I feel like a little kid again! Weeeeeeee!

Very impressed. At this point the game could do everything wrong and I’d still love it just for the moments I’ve seen in this trailer. That’s how good this looks. Having played the demo and now seen this, I’m gonna go against common wisdom and pass judgment before it comes out and say we have a winner.
Haha too bad I didn’t have a time machine(still waiting on the delorean time machine to be built) I would bring my kid self to the future to see that ghostbusters is still alive and well in 2008. Got my RGB dvds and have been playing them practically everyday. Ah the memories and this game is gonna keep me indoors for at least a few weeks.
Got to be my favorite quote is Ray’s as well on the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. “I didn’t do it this time, I swear.”
P.S. I can’t believe how good it really looks, I know I’m watching CGI, but I still feel like I’m watching GB2.5. This could be big.
Plus holding out hope that if RGB Dvd sales does really well sony could produce some new RGB movies. Futurama did and so could they.

I’ll bet good money that shot of the security guard is from the opening of the whole game and that the opening credits roll after the camera zooms in on his screaming face.
Of course I could be way off but that shot seems like such an obvious throwback to the librarian scene from the beginning of GB.
All i gotta say is..epic..simply epic..I’m glad I work at a GameStop so I can get first dibs on this game..plus I love the trailer..it’s like a movie trailer.
Also..I saw the HD version and it’s incredible but it’s really creppy how much the cinematic ghostbusters look like the real guys

I know, it’s amazing. Not only is the animation spot on, dead ringers for our boys. But if you look closely at each one you can notice each ‘Busters personal mannerisms and facial quirks which compare exactly to their real-life counterparts. It’s (strikingly) amazing!
Some hard, beautiful work here. All involved seem to have poured their hearts and souls into creating this one.

For the Rookie, they should incorporate some kind of character customization or have a feature where you can take a picture of yourself (using Xbox Live Vision camera or PS Eye) and it translates that into your character’s face (a la Facebreaker or Tiger Woods). Now that would be the closest thing to a dream come true – myself as a GB along the original four.

I’ve been watching this trailer non-stop and the wait for the game was bad before..now it’s really killing me…only 6 MORE MONTHS!!!…man i wish i had a time machine…and if anybody wants..I work at a GameStop so I may actually get the game like a week early like I did Gears 2..so if anyone wants I’ll play it and post how i think it is in one of the comment areas here.
Does anyone know if there is going to be a playable demo of this at the New York Comi-Con if february?..that would be awesome since I can go to that one, whereas I couldn’t go to the San Diego Comi-Con
Just a guess, but I would say they’d probably have the demo there.
