So, it’s been a couple of weeks now without any of the loading pain that plagued the site on and off for the last six months. And a big part of that is thanks to Chad at Ghostbusters.net for taking my old, legacy-code-filled theme, and properly updating it. There are still a couple of things that bug me, and we’re working to tweak those into shape, but for all intents and purposes, the site’s running like a top (knock on wood.) Heck, archives are, once again, up and running! Just in time for 2009!
I’m warning you, friend; don’t shut it off

Fix the “Line-Height” on your side menu. It doesn’t appear right in IE.
It doesn’t display right in Firefox either – that would be one of those “couple of things that bug me.” I haven’t, as yet, figured out where in the code to adjust that.
I wouldn’t know without looking at it. There has to be something in the CSS that is overriding the line height.
One thing that has always bothered me is how wide the page is. Heh. Couldn’t you expand the white area just another 100 pixels? Pllleeeasseee?
Heh ya know, that tight border has always kinda been part of the charm!
Nice work on Fixing the site up, it just needed some shocks, brakes, brake pads, fluid, oil change, engine overhaul, etc.
Kudos to everyone involved! and Thank-you for all your efforts. we appreciate it very much.
Yeah, Chris, why IS the site so darn skinny? It only takes up half of a 1024×768 screen width.
I’ve always thought that maybe you did it so it could display better on mobile devices, but I’d love to know definitively from you what the reason is for the short width.
