The January 27th release of the first of the individual DVD sets for Time-Life’s Real Ghostbusters collection has been pushed back to the end of March, according to TV Shows On DVD. This shouldn’t mean much to most fans, as the collected set (see links at the side) are still available, and are – at the lower cumulative price plus extras – the better deal. However, we thought you might want to know.
Better news is that Amazon has listed the IDW collected trade paperback for their Ghostbusters: The Other Side mini-series. The book, containing all four issues, will retail at $17.99, but Amazon is taking pre-orders at $12.23 – the only downside is that you have to wait until the May release to get it. Thank to Mr. Cardwell for the heads up on that.

Wow, preorders for a Ghostbusters TPB. Haha at least it’s through a reputable company this time.
The un-reputable company being…?
thank god. i just ordered my real ghostbusters complete set on the 28th, with some xmas money and im dying to watch them all thoughout the winter and build up till the game launch in june.
I dont see why anyone would want to get the volums anyway. U wouldent get the beautiful box set design.
“The un-reputable company being…?”
88mph?
Isn’t it obvious, Jonathan?
And you wouldn’t get the bonus disc either, Al.
Well, there’s a number of retailers that cary(ied) the individual comics, same with the bound set…and both formats are made by the same company…so, no; it’s not obvious, at least not to me…
when ever i hear of a dogdy company, i think 88mph… haha
I don’t know where you’ve been but 88 MPH Studios was the only place that claimed they were taking preorders for a Hardcover of Legion and a lot of people got screwed.
Oh, yeah…I forgot 88 MPH did that whole thing…I just wasn’t connecting the two things; “LEGION” was such a stupid mini-series, at least that was my impression based on the #1…unless it got quite better by the time it was through, I’d say the whole thing was a big ripoff, taking bits and pieces from GB1 (the movie) and adding a little bit of revamping or whatever, and claiming it was something “new”…this new comic series, IMO, isn’t at all related to the 88 MPH thing, asdie from their both being comic mini series…I guess if I’d taken part of the 88 MPH pre-order thing, I’d have bitter memories of it, but as things are, it’s just like all those dumb movies I’ve wasted my time on; not worth remembering…
It didn’t get any better after the first issue. It was very average. I haven’t read The Other Side yet so I don’t know about that one. I just thought it was ironic to be hearing about another collection of a GB miniseries.
On the front of DVDs, I had to order a replacement disc for Volume 1, Disc 3. I ordered it December 1, 2008 and it’s not expected to ship until February 28, 2009, which sucks. And then y’all mention 88MPH Studios. I’m ready to weep. Why doesn’t someone mention the game delay?
Because the game is actually still being released haha.
What was wrong with the DVD? Just something random that happened to you or something that affected all the sets?
wait. so Beezer your saying that you also had a disk scrached out of the package? i have the same problem with volume 1 disk 2 but its so miner that it don’t skip in my player and im still useing the first xbox to watch dvds. i’ll probly just wait untill volume 1 comes out in stores buy that and then replace my disk 2. anyone know if the dvds that will be released in stores will be the same that we have in our box set?
The disc is not scratched. For some random reason, a couple episodes do not play properly and skip or just go to the menu. I tried it on several different DVD players. To the best of my knowledge, I’m the only one with the problem.
well i hope that problem with your dvd gets fixed im just wandering if finding a scratch or 2 on a massive 25 dvd set is common or not. can someone help?
