Today’s flurry of CES news has Atari announcing officially a June 16th release date for the Ghostbusters videogame. Or, as some of them put it, June 19th. Nice work, press.
Given the June 16th release announcement for the Blu Ray Ghostbusters that was made yesterday, and that the release was intended to coincide with the game’s release, I’m going to assume for now that June 19th is a dumb typo, and other outlets just keep reporting it.
So, until we hear otherwise… June 16th. Mark your calendars.
Games traditionally come out on Tuesdays, so I’d bet the 16th is probably the right date. Unless they have a special Friday event planned or soemthing, which some games have done in the past (ie “Mortal Monday”).
Does it come out in Europe at the same time as the US?

Yes! I can’t wait to play with you guys online. I bet it’s gonna be a big rush to see who completes the game first. I’m gonna play it slowly. I want to experience his game fully and take absolutely everything in so there’s no way I’m going to try and rush through it on my first go. I’ll probably go for a time trial on my second play through. Can’t wait!

I actually work at GameStop and our system says June 16th..so I’m going by that..lol..5 more months!!!
Most games come out on Tuesdays, so that would be the 16th. So I am sure it was a typo.
Well June 19th is my 25th birthday so I will be happy either way!
I was under the impression that the 19th was the release for UK and Europe in general. Especially as the 19th June is a Friday and thats when most of our games get released. Other than the odd special occaision. GTA 4 was out mid-week i believe.
I feel like my entire Christmas was a sham because I couldn’t open that game sized, rectangular, wrapping paper to see that familiar logo! But If I have waited this long, surely I can suppress any feelings of doubt and angst till June like everyone else does…with bourbon!
That would make sense, if the 19th is the EU date – would have been nice if the articles had covered both. It’s 2009 – everybody is reading everybody else’s internet pages!
DVD’s also come out on Tuesdays so it’s safe to say that’s when it comes out. I guess I’m buying the movies all over again. Damnit blue ray and your Cristal clear picture and sound.
