To the haters who don’t want to tarnish their “precious memories” of the 80s here’s my advice: don’t watch the movie. It’s that simple. No need to complain. Your memories will be safe. Just don’t watch it.

Something else came to mind… We are well past the late 80s early 90s… Ever notice that when people recreate settings and time periods, they tend to overcompensate to account for really placing the viewer in the era… So hopefully, when and if they go back to recreate the “feel” of the original movie, we’ll see some of that old feeling from the first flick

At this point, obviously things could still go awry, but I’m hopeful. I imagine the game will generate a lot of interest in the franchise again and that’s right about the time Dan Aykroyd wants the script to be green lit. It seems like that’s not a coincidence. All I can say now is that if they do go ahead and do a third film, I hope it’s good. But doesn’t everybody? =P

I for one have been waiting for this movie since 1992 or better yet, 1994.

Well, all I have to say is if you don’t waint a GB3 that’s fine. But for the people who do, don’t ruin it.

Let GB3 get made for the people who have been praying for years for it. And if it doesn’t meet up with your HIGH standards, ignore it. Make believe it doesn’t exist and it it isn’t part of the true cannon.

But don’t punish the people who want to see it made.

As I was saying…your all thinking too far ahead. You haven’t seen a script, budget or even cast list. So you don’t even know if it will not rock or it WILL. So, calm down.

Also, to put all your minds at rest – I don’t think they would be making a new GB movie just for it to be no good. Even though there are new writers I am sure it will be great! I mean, look at how wonderful the video game has turned out to be – Sony is taking great care to make sure that GB gets the best treatment it can. My hopes are high that the film will follow that same ideal (should it be made.)

My worst fear is Indy 4 or the New Star Wars trilogy being repeated. But I’m also trying to keep in mind that Lucas has managed to keep his dirty rotten mass marketing hands off Ghostbusters

So a little part of me is kind of hoping that this doesn’t go anywhere. Which is strange for me since I’ve always supported the development of a sequel since ‘89.

That said, I understand the concern about tarnishing the GB mindset we all have from the first film. Its a concern of mine that holds even for the new game ( a rapidly diminishing one at that) But something worth considering in all this, to perhaps calm the worries of them ruining the feel and gestalt of GB, remember this — from the get go with the game, everyone, Aykroyd included, knew the first GB movie contained the heart and set the tone. It was the standard. Something i think everyone realized in hindsight. So if everyone on board KNOWS that the first GB is canon now, I dont think that a third movie could be that much more off than GB2… if anything, maybe, MAYBE, it will reign that distance in a little bit. Who knows. Fuck, this may likely never even SEE the light of day! Heh…
