I saw this fictional Ghostbusters 3 poster over at the Ghostbusters.com messageboard, by gh0st, and felt it deserved a shout out. Because as gh0st puts it, maybe we don’t really need a new team. And looking at this poster, I tend to wonder the same thing myself.

i think it would funny showing the older cast in their later years it would be mix of ghostbusters and grumpy old men.
also i think robert downey jr is a perfect fit for a new member
Wow, look at the difference of opinion between the 2 Matthews.

“But a third film only with the original cast? Give me a break, have you seen what Dan and Harold look like now? ”
You do raelise that Ghostbusters is a comedy, right? So why does it matter if they’re old and fat?
I just don’t think they have it in them to carry the entire film by themselves. I’m not trying to be superficial at all. I am just taking their side. They (Dan/Harold) think its the best move to only be partial roles, and I think they’re right. I trust them with their precious concept, and if they think its time to give the proton packs to the youth then I tend to lean their way.
One of the main reasons I feel that way is because they are old.
Would you want to see current Chevy Chase in Fletch 3?
Me neither.
Not exclusively because he is fat, but he clearly doesnt have the same comedy chops as before. Murray is really the only one I think would be capable of doing it right…
I say bring it on, leave seth rogen out of it, and if it sucks I will be the first one bitching about it 3 years from now.
Until then, I trust them when they say they cant do it.
Belive me the Original GB’s can do a GB3 No Dought! They look Awesome in the GB3 Poster! I guess they will need help because the Original GB’s are getting older and that’s why they will train a new team to help them out. Ghostbusters 3 will be here in 2012 and here’s the proof Imdb address: http://www.Imdb.com/title/tt1289401 and you will see the Original GB’s on the GB3 cast list including Rick Moranis and Sigourney Weaver! Ghostbusters 3 will be a very Awesome movie to see in 2012. Even GB2 was a great movie to. In 2012 GB3 will Rock at the Theater and I can’t wait to see Ghostbusters 3 in 2012!
The first Matthew is right. The Original GB’s will do a great job in Ghostbusters 3! With them training a new team to help them out they will still do a Wonderful job the Original GB’s in GB3!
Is that the same “Patrick” who was telling us last year that the big Comic-Con announcement for 2008 was that there was a new movie? …and based this information on the fact that he had a friend in San Diego, therefore the info was correct? ( Honestly, I have no idea what the one has to do with the other…. )
The IMDB link provided merely says “Comments: Scripting” which if you know anything about the movie business or IMDB, doesn’t mean it’s been greenlighted. Not even close. Harold let 2 writers from the Office take a crack at a script, that’s it. Please don’t substitute your optimistic hopes for reality or the truth, just play it day-by-day.
Hey matthew, I’ve met Dan and Ernie and they still both look great. It’s Bill that hasn’t aged well he looks like he’s in his 70’s. And Don’t forget if John Belushi didn’t die murray would never have been in Ghostbusters. He owes Dan and Harold alot whether he’d admit it or not, his solo career wasn’t the best. Danny’s got more talent than bill would know what to do with. Don’t forget Dan and Harold aren’t just actors they’re writers, directors and producers. Bill’s just an actor. You murray fans need to get your information straight Bill wouldn’t be a Ghostbuster if Dan and Harold didn’t re write that part for him. Second of all there’s no need for a new team. The originals would be fine on their own Alot of male “stars” aren’t funny at all for example seth rogen plus anyone else would defile what Ghostbusters stands for. Real fans like myself don’t need juvenille humor in a third sequel.

Jeez Boyer, you make them sound like they’re 80 years old!
They’re only in their late 50s/early 60s. a nice diet and a good trip the gym is all they need.
As far as the “packs being too heavy”, those packs were most-likely fan made so they were probably pretty hefty. Sony/Columbia have specialists in the business, you dont think they can make props an appropriate weight for the actor?
i think if GB3 is made, it should be the book end of the series, (an on going video game series is welcome), but as far as movies go, GB3 should end on a conclusive high note, and we leave it as a fine trilogy.”
You’re absolutely right. But I was just basing my claims on what I’ve heard and read. I’ll just let the original actors defend themselves from now on.
@Stantz84
I don’t need juvenile humor in anything, personal. lol
