We’re officially at the point where it’s time to start corralling the reviews for the game and the Blu-ray. This is a low-priority post, meaning I’m not going to scour daily for new reviews, or as I like to call it, “reading the entire Internet.” Feel free to add links into the comments, and they will be added to the main post where there’s a chance.

**** Yes! I knew this game was going to surpass the standards of movie licensed interactive media!
Let’s goooooo GHOSTBUSTERS!!!!!!!!!!
I like that the ratings are high, but is it wrong for me to hope that it was even higher?
i’ve checked out the messages from other blogers on ign and came across one from a justinmobb saying that the game is suckish and that those who have waiting for this game has wasted their lives, i don’t even want to mention what he mentioned about the video game cover, but of course you would have to expect a comment from some unidentified prick. he made it sound like someone forced him to play ghostbusters and then go on the net and post some garbage about ghostbusters both the movies and game included someone should have told him that if you didn’t like ghostbusters then why you play the game?
If you average it out to 78.63, that’s a little lower than I hoped. It’s not bad, but I was hoping for a little more. Having said that, I’m not terribly suprised. Everything I saw made me think it would be a good, but not great game that was benefited by my interest in the franchise.
I’ll still play it, but it seems a little short (8 hours?!).
I’m looking at a lot of idiots leaving comments on IGN. How about this gem from someone named Newshadow:
“Thats it. im done with ign. im sick of seeing horrible games get +8 reviews.
that it ign, were done”.
The game isn’t out ’till the 16th right? Could someone be talking out of their ass? I think so.
That’s just one example. The people that have pre-judged do not to be convinced as they will not be picking this up regardless. Expect more where that came from.
I won’t be focusing much on the reviews for the game. I’m glad to see it’s doing very well, and from what we’ve all SEEN for ourselves, from following the development, knowing the amount of hard work and love put into it,
we can look forward to enjoying this one.
Just would like to make note that the nintendo power score is on the Wii version, not the PS3 and Xbox360 versions.

Sounds like a great Ghostbusters experience but an average game. exactly what I thought that it would like be from day one.
New Ghostbusters The Video Game review in Gamereactor mag(danish) 9/10:

Being a movie franchise based game, to see it getting above 4 is good enough for me. Honestly this game could be pulling in 2’s and I’d still be at the midnight release for it.
Seems to me most hardcore gamers out there have standards that are just way too high for most games to live up to. I mean, what’s wrong with just enjoying a game for what it is? Hell, sometimes I’ll play a brainless game based on a movie franchise just for a little noncommittal fun one afternoon. These hardcore gamers tend to want extremely looong and challenging games. Screw that! If GBTVG is only 8 hours…. so what? After those 8 hours, what are most of us gonna do? Prob replay it!
Don’t think of it as an 8 hour long game. Think of it as an 8 hour long sequel. I’m just happy it’s not tanking. It would have been awesome if it had gotten a lot of 9/10 and 10/10. I will take 7/10 and 8/10 that makes me happy. They made a decent game. In the end that’s all us Ghostheads ever wanted. Right? A good GB game. After all the crap games we’ve been dealt. One more week. I can’t wait.
forget the reviews, in a game such as this you really gotta see for yourself.
@Jason, etc: Right, and life has dealt me a low blow. I am no longer a hardcore gamer – or whatever I was BEFORE. Now I can’t stand long games. I once loved long adventure and RPG games, but now I can’t stand the amount of time and level building it takes. I’d rather be playing a casual 2D scroller with a good story line and fun gameplay – just like in the good old days of Mario, Kirby, and Sonic. I’m viewing this Ghostbusters game the way that it should be viewed – an 8 hour movie you have to play instead of watch.
It seems to me that it was meant to be a “playable movie” more than a game anyway, and hey … that’s alright with me.
The game supposedly has difficulty levels, so there is replay value for each harder level. aAnd with the multiplayer element added to the pc and next gen versions, thats lots more replayablity.
If the levels are good, as in some games, you could find yourself playing specific levels 100 or more times over online each.
Yeah someone on bestbuy gave it a one star review and said the movies were for 2 year olds. Man People piss me off
6 out of 10 from DVDrama? That’s the French for you, perhaps they should concentrate on their aviation failings instead.
In regards to the video game, I agree with 1Rocketeer and Kale. We all know the game is gonna be great as a standalone incomparable piece of art. For those who think eight hours is short, think of it as an eight hour sequel and God blessed revival of the franchise.
Cheers!
I just don’t get why more wii reviews haven’t been released. I think the 360, ps3, and the pc version are getting too much attention!!!!!!!!!
ghostbusters bluray it is the bees knees it has full
of surprises ncluding slimer mode where you can watch cast and crew interviews and see behind the scenes stills and factiods in one special
pip mode 2 dissapointments about is is there is no theatrical trailer
and no music video and the main best part is the bluechat where you can
discuss the movie whillest watching it and a good value of money the bluray
was 25 years in the making and you can experience the movie in a whole new light in bluray high def with crystal clear sound and picture quality and better than going to the cinema.
