So many screenings, and NONE in NYC?! I’m surprised. In the city the movies take place in, the city they say is like a character in them unto itself, there are NO plans for the 25th Anniversary? Really…
Shame none in Central New York. Or even New York for that matter…
Yeah, WTF with no NYC screenings!?! It’s NEW. YORK. CITY. Duuuuude!
Hmmm… none in New Zealand. How suprising!
Hey, how do you see big images of the posters?
New York? why New York?
I can’t drive to New York
We need some in Dayton Ohio!
June 30th, Wealthy Theatre, Grand rapids, MI.
Actually…there is a New York screening. July 24, 8:30 PM, at Pier 45. Outdoors, but it’s free! http://www.hudsonriverpark.org/events.asp?date=7/2009&day=1&size=large
Three new screenings added (keep em comin’) and I added the posters, by request (click to see them embiggened)
where are the texas ones at
I need to figure a way to get one of these together somewhere in the Detroit area. Plenty of small theaters to take advantage of…
ARGH! JULY!?!! What the hell!? Why can’t NYC do a screening in JUNE!? Hell the movie came out June 8th 1984!!! C’mon! What the heck NYC!? Argh….stupid city….Love it here but hate it too….grrrr
(headsmack)
Yesterday everyone was whining that New York had NO screening. Now the complaint is that it’s in July?
Simple answer – there are only so many prints of Ghostbusters out there, and it’s first come, first served – and thats ON TOP of finding an open day at a theater.
Ghostbusters will be screened in San Diego @ Landmark’s Ken Cinema

New York you say ? I’ll be there!
The Boston screening is now “sold” out- no seats left!
Is the Pier 45 one easy to get to? Not exactly sure where it is, and I’m curious if there are going to be any celebrities out there if this is a true 25th anniversary experience. It might even be cool to have members of the hook and ladder company there with a fire truck or two..
What!? No Washington State showings. I guess I am heading to vancouver.
Anyone know if there is going to be a Chicago screening? This is Harold Ramis’ home turf.
I wanna go to the new york screening, but im in a play that night!Ecto Shit!
How can the ‘Rio Theatre’ Screen a movie called “Ghostbusters 1″ no such movie exists….
Well, you can pick one of two answers;
1) Because “Ghostbusters & 2″ looks stupid, and posters don’t have a lot of spare space for “Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters 2″.
2) Because we paid Criterion distribution for the public performance rights to the first and second movie, and they don’t care what we put on the poster – they’re sending the first and second movie.
Brevity – way more useful and twice as clever as semantic nit-picking on websites!
Just thought I’d be picky… ;D
Why no Toronto screenings?
Anyone actually check out the site for the Pier 45 screening?
There are two labels that they use, Riverflicks for grownups and Riverflicks for kids. Guess which one Ghostbusters got tagged with.
The stigma of the animated series perhaps?
I made a typo when I sent in the NYC screening – it’s actually Pier 46 (they’re, obviously, right next to each other).
The pier is on the West Side, near W. 10th St. It’s very easy to get to. There are a few subway stops nearby, but you’ll have to walk a little, too. Check hopstop.com if you need directions using public transportation.
It’s not an official 25th anniversary screening – it’s part of the Hudson River Park’s summer programming. They do two film screenings a week (like Superstarsteven noted, one for kids, one for adults). So I doubt there are any special appearances planned. They have free popcorn, though!
Sadly, I’ll be away on work that week (the only week all summer I’ll be out of town!), so you kids have fun without me.
Here in my crappy city (crappy country) ain´t were any screening. I hate living here.
