Taking their official license from Sony and running with it, Japan’s A Bathing Ape design house has added a variety of new products to their line of previous Ghostbusters t-shirts.
The design-label as released a whole host of t-shirts, which now include Slimer hanging out with the no-ghost logo and Baby Milo (the house’s cute mascot).
Of more interest, at least to fans not interested in the high-priced hipster t-shirts, are the mugs and – and these are frickin’ sweet – trainers with the no-ghost logo incorporated into the shoe. Even the box is hawt!
They are not cheap however, with a US distributor selling them online at $100 for the t-shirts and $240 for the shoes. Yeeks.
Thanks for the lead, Grim!

Oh man, I hope I don’t get lynched for being so blunt but…. crap. Sorry. Poor placement on the shoes and the designs look like they took 5 minutes in Illustrator to make. Oh, and the mugs are very….. very…. cafepress?
Why would you get lynched? In previous posts, most responders hated the Bape line. Which seems moot, since they’re priced so high, nobody wants to buy them anyhow. I would have to see one of the mugs before comparing them to Cafe Press, but honestly, one white/black mug with something on it looks like any other.
I thought lynched because usually I don’t like to be too critical and couldn’t recall that BAPE has received lots of negative comments! Also, using the term “crap” is less than constructive! With this particular item, not only do I consider the art to be lazy – but the price is outrageous. Personally I find it all rather insulting given that those shirts cost at most a couple of bucks to print! Disgusting profiteering. I mean, if a shirt is 100 bucks at least give me 100 bucks of awesome art! Anyway, now I’m just blabbering on…
I agree wholeheartedly. It would be all right on some cutesy little toys you’d find at a comic-shop or something of the like (and by comic-shop I mean like Newbury Comics, if anyone knows what I’m talking about. I don’t know how widespread that company.) but not on a $100 shirt, or a $240 pair of shoes. Total waste of money.
It has to be pointed out that the cost as we see it is after it has been shipped overseas. It’s still pricey in Japan, but it’s targeting a different market there. From what I can tell at the Bape Nerd site, Bape is targeted at a certain hip-hop demographic – the design house even co-produced items for clothes horses like Kanye West.
I still think the sneaker boxes are awesome.
guys who dont like this and say the artist drew it in 5 minutes its suppose to look like that its made so that it looks like an old cartoon book or something but i like the shoes (wish they were cheaper though) the shirts and mugs are okay i guess:/
I´d love some GB snickers… but from Vans or Converse, I hate that stupid monkey.
I want those red shoes!
My GB shoes totally own those ones.
I have seen someone with that shirt. I’m not sure if it was the exact shirt but it was with that no-ghost logo and the little monkey head at the bottom. It may look cutesy to some people in design. but on the t-shirt itself it doesnt wear well. The guy who was wearing it probably thought it looked retro or cutesy himself while according to me and several others he looked as if he belonged on the short bus.
If they got rid of the Monkey that has NOTHING to do with Ghostbusters I would spend spend spend.
But they’re getting nothing from me while thats invading the logo.
