Just add this to the same pile as the last time Weaver spoke on the subject.
“All I said was, look guys, if there is a Ghostbusting part for Dana’s son Oscar, that’s who I would like…”
“That’s what you want, you don’t want to be in it yourself?”
“That’s alright, no…leave it to them.”

Well Well Whats A Movie Without Dana???? Who Will Peter Try To Suduce This Time? I Just Dont Think It Would Be A Ghostbusters Movie Without The Original Cast But Thats Just Me
No probs, Weavy! I’m just as happy (if not MORE) to see Alysa Milano Ghostbustin’ for it.
Well- Look who thinks they’re “too cool for school”.
I bet she’s still miffed about not being in the video game. Hey, that’s what happens when you don’t accept a project for its quality, but then want to jump in at the last minute ’cause “Murray is doing it”.
I say good-riddents! I never liked her as Dana. Stiff and unattractive.
Besides…I bet she has more important comedic work to do. Like another Galaxy Quest where she dyes her hair blond and pops her fake boobs out while delivering wooden lines. Way to go!
She is such a babyish, spoil-sport!

Ummm…that was the JOKE of that character in the movie.
I know, Paul. I remember the movie. My point was that in the GB films she starred in well written material, with great comedic actors. Is she funny on her own? Afraid not…she needs to use her push-up bra and hair dye to get laugh……barely. But she could star with comedy greats such as Murray, Akroyd and Ramis again. Who, can make anyone laugh just with their body language and twinkle in their eye(s). But she believes it’s not good enough fare for her to be in there. That’s ok…fine. Her role is not so important to the film series where the couldn’t make another great movie without her in it. The video game just proves my point.
i was really hiped to see dana barret aka sigourny(hope i spelled it right)weaver is gb3 its ok though atleast oscars in it
I don’t want oscar in it. A 20 year old in a ghostbusters film? No thankyou. Bring Dana in and lets just have a good sequel instead of this passing the torch garbage.
What people seem to neglect to realize is that there really isn’t a place for Dana, unless we’re going to make her the “damsel in distress” again, which is definitely overplayed, and been there done that material. I don’t want to see something that will feel like a rehash of GB2 that feels like a rehash of GB1.
I don’t have a problem with her not being in it, and I don’t view it as her thinking she’s “too cool”. She doesn’t want to do it, that’s fine. The video game went perfectly fine without her in it, so will the movie.
With a third movie I agree we don’t need Weaver, however I don’t see how we can do anything but a passing the torch style movie. I mean have you see how the guys look? Other than Ernie Hudson there’s no way those guys could dawn the pack and gear and still look spry enough to pull it off. I made a GB3 mock poster out of the PS3 background for fun, and having done that, I think honestly that CG is the only way we can really get the old Ghostbusters we love with…the now old Ghostbusters cast. We saw that they did with the game, and we know that isn’t the farthest they can push CG, I think it could work.
They can’t use Alyssa Milano’s character from the game in GB3 though unless they want to age her fifteen years.
I’d be happy just seeing a cameo of Dana in it.. the main focus should be the guys, what they’ve done, and what they are going to do, and interacting with the new recruits, whoever they are.
I’d be more concerned if Louis or Jeaninie wasn’t going to be in it, personally.
Well I don’t like it one bit! I’m very happy that Ghostbusters 3 is happening but I’m very upset that Sigourney Weaver won’t be in Ghostbusters 3. She’s my #1 Favorite actress and it’s going to be her fault for missing out. I’m pretty sure they can find someone else who can play the new Dana Barrett. Like Alyssa because she’s in her late 30’s I saw before when she voiced the GB videogame. I know she’s young to play a Mom but you never know. I’m still going to see Ghostbusters 3 in 2012 no matter what because that’s what the date is on the GB3 Imdb 2012! No Joke! It will still be a Great movie and I hope that Annie will be in Ghostbusters 3 to and Rick.
Hey Patrick! Remember when you asked me how I knew your real name…well there ya go.
Dunno. You don’t think they’re planning on Oscar moving in with Peter unexpectedly when mumsy passes away, leaving Venkman to pursue a lost relationship with the stepson he never had? Would it work?
I think the scariest parts of Ghostbusters II was any scene showing Dana with her top off; Sigourney Weaver is NOT a very attractive female. She was good at beating up an alien, but even when she was the seductive form of Zuul, she wasn’t doing anything for me. Venkman deserves better.
To me Sigourney Weaver is very attractive and she was in her Aliens movies and the first two GB Movies. I’m hoping that she would reconsider to being in GB3 because Dan said she would and now I don’t know if he knows about this or what. I’m sure he does know about this and he will talk to her to hopefully change her mind again. Sigourney is my #1 Favorite actress and I will be upset if she’s not in it but I will still see GB3 with or without her in it.
Well it’s Official I just checked the Ghostbusters 3 Imdb and Sigourney’s name is out. I’m very upset about it. It will be her fault for missing out on Ghostbusters 3. I’m still going to see GB3 in 2012 no matter what. I’m sure they will find a new Dana Barrett or they will leave her out and have Dr. peter Venkman help his Step-Son Oscar when they train him to be a new GB in GB3. Sigourney is still my #1 Favorite actress but I’m very upset that she changed her mind again about being in Ghostbusters 3.
well, i’m actually in favour of a CG GB3-to really bring down the house using the original team in a great cimeatic masterpiece of epic proprtions to bring down the house and close out the GB story, as opposed to this live action weirdness from outside writers which’ll probably star Owen Wilson, Ben Stiller, Will Farrell, and Jack Black *shudder* (although i do like Jack Black).
