Brother Electronics and Sony have joined forces to launch a contest, wherein a lucky family of four will get flown to New York to take part in a Ghostbusters Halloween in 2010! I’ve found references on Irish and UK websites for Brother, but other press makes it sound global. More on that in a second.
The contest is pretty simple – play their odd little, flash game (UK page), which you can play using either the top-down, Pac-Man style or 3rd person, Doom style interface. The winner will be whomever can complete the five levels the fastest – there are runner up prizes of Sony electronics, and unspecified weekly prizes. The contest will run until November of this year.
This is the UK contest page, but as mentioned, it’s not clear if the contest will soon appear on other Brother sites around the world – if anyone spots one, please post the link in the comments, so we can direct people to the right contest and rules for their country.

That’s a pretty cool contest prize.
Interesting choice, the Algonquin, rumor has it the set of the Sedgewick Hotel guest room corridors were based on it.
On the game’s Terms & Conditions page, it says that the contest is only open to UK residents, but if you’re not a UK resident, you can select your country at http://www.brother.eu/ghostbusters
The US isn’t on the list on that page. Looking over the list of countries, I think they’re all in Europe (assuming my knowledge of geography isn’t wrong).
The neato part is that going to that page brings up a nice Flash graphic, which concludes with a high quality copy of the 25th Anniversary logo.
Here’s some wallpapers and posters

You’re welcome.
No applause, just throw money.
UPDATE – The wallpapers suck, but the posters are fantastic – that is if you crack them open to get at the images inside. I did just that, and you can nab those puppies from my site. Anyone who wanted a high-quality copy of the 25th Anniversary logo can now get it. Granted it’s on a slime background, but it’s better than nothing.
If anyone with good image editing skills can take one of these logo images and convert them into high-quality solid black and solid white background images, please send them to me. Thanks.
UPDATE YET AGAIN – Even with my limited image editing skills I was able to remove the slime background and place the 25th anniversary logos onto solid backgrounds. Feel free to get them from my website at the afore linked page.
