Racers participating in this year’s Rental Car Rally gave the citizens of Carroll, Ohio a bit of a shock, as they moved through town, dressed in costume, including Ghostbusters outfits. The shock moved to suspicion as the race moved past a nearby nuclear power plant, and the police were called in to check out the possible “terrorists.”
The good news is that the police quickly figured out what was going on, and remained on scene to observe as the race moved out of town. On the downside, the people of Carroll, Ohio have no joy in their hearts, apparently.

That happend to me in my home town when a budy and I went out in gear one night. Some lady called the cops thinking we were terrorists. Next thing i know we were surrounded by 3 patrole cars. People need to lighten up and remeber the 80s damn it.

Stupid people don’t realize that real terrorists won’t look like terrorists.
I just read the article. I can kinda understand if people were suspicious of men in ski masks (assuming they;re not at a ski resort), but to see Ghostbusters, ballerinas, ninjas AND Little Red Riding Hood and think “terrorists” is just freaking absurd.
“We’ew being invaded by our imaginations! Oh no!” This reminds me of “The Russians are Coming, the Russians are Coming”.
Gawd, such pigheadedness and ignorance really cheeses me off! Just like that time when someone got busted at the airport with a “fake bomb” Proton Pack ><
The worst part about this story is that this is NOT the first time I’ve heard of a scenario like this and I doubt it will be the last. I guess some people really think terrorists wear uniforms and giant backpacks with lights.
