As for Crystal Skull. What is everpne’s problem with Crystal Skull. You had to know that Indy wouldn’t be the same. He’s about twenty years older. There’s no way he could pull the same young Indy. EVeryone brings up the fridge in the nuclear blast as being unrealistic.

Surviving a nuclear blast in a lead line fridge is unrealistic, but a priest ripping the still beating heart from a kid who continues to live until he is engulfed in lava while his heart catche son fire, or a persons face melts from the vengeance of God. These thing happens everyday. I can’t turn the TV on without seeing a guy get his heart ripped out and still be alive as if nothing happened.

Come on, if you didn’t like Crystal Skull because of script problems or direction or story I would understand but people can only bring up things in the movie that are simnilar to thing sdone in the previous movies that are hailed.

Liek the prequesl I think that the expectation was just too much and Lucas nor Spielberg could never live up to them but God bless ‘em for trying.

I’d love the makers of Ghostbusters III to revert back to the old way of building puppets, models and doing matte paintings.

It also needs to be funny. It needs to be scary. It should concentrate on the characters and not the speacial effects. It must have all the feel of the original in visuals and sound but it must journey in a new direction in relation to story.

I think this is what must be done in order to make a genuinly good and worthy sequel.

We honestly have no frame of reference on what to expect. All we have is faith.

I’d prefer to see a new cartoon series with the likenesses of the actors and definately another game, but only if it’s better than Terminal Realitys effort.

Crystal Skulls’ purpose is to enrich an occasion and intoxicate those who possess a stomach and small/large intestines that can be plopped down in a theater seat to be present for 1 ½ hours of ghostbustin’ . I wouldn’t mind if they made shameless sponsor plug about it in GB3.

mmmh….this is a little bit more definitive. What about Bill saying “There is no script”? I read the link posted few minutes ago….where Bill say that “part of the plot is good”….. the question is: Ivan say “there is a SCRIPT (not a draft or a plot idea…i guess Reitman know the difference between them all)a script COMPLETED AND APPROVED……and Bill say “It’s a bunch of talk, there is no script”. Who is saying the truth?

5- The second movie was some kind of exploitation of the first but was too heavily based on special effects, in that way losing grip on what were the driving forces of the first: characters and jokes. here we go: don’t worry Bill…..they know how to write a good story, they know how to not repeat the same errors!

Sure, Bill Murray has done his share of dreck, but maybe he holds more affection for the Venkman character than he does for Garfield, or for the guy he played in Space Jam.

Umm… just so you know, Bill Murray played HIMSELF in Space Jam. He may like Venkman alot, but I think he has more “affection” for himself!

I’m sure that Bill (as an actor/artist) will NEVER truly get over the emotional discontent that he received from GB 2, so I can understand him being a little weary of doing a third GB film. And I wholeheartedly agree with him not likeing the idea of basically re-hashing the GB 2 plot (reopening the business), but with a younger generation? But I will say this, if they do make GB 3, hopefully it will be THE last GB movie, because it just won’t be the same without them (Bill, Dan, Harold, Ernie, etc).

Me too, I’m afraid GB3 will end up being a tranny.

As for GB 2, I’ve heard him say for years that the script he read and approved wasn’t the same one that they filmed. He mentioned something about the “effects guys” getting ahold of it (though I don’t think the special effects are the problem with GB 2…). If the 3rd one doesn’t have a strong story, and if it lacks the character interplay that made the first one so great, I’d rather they skip it altogether.

And “Crystal Skull” was terrible.
