Matthew has dug up another nugget that just got posted to YouTube – this time it’s the GB2 effects team and Robin Navlyt (who wore the Slimer suit in the movie) testing out the wearable puppet’s ability to emote. The range of motion in the face, compared to the simple jaw puppet from the first film, is amazing!
This video is from the same source as these, also send in by Matthew a year ago – but sadly they’ve been removed. I wonder if I made back-ups?

Well, hello lady under Slimer, how are you?
I like how they brought Slimer back for the fans in GB2. I wish the motion picture business still worked like that. Now we’re lucky to get the original ghostbusters in for a five second cameo. GB2 happened just a little before Sony took control if I remember correctly. In a post Sony world there is nothing to look forward to. But a lot of people don’t like GB2 slimer, I personally think he’s cool and would love to have that suit.
lol Matt sent it to you but I was the first one to post it on the boards lol
Well, good on ya. My rounds of the boards are irregular, so it goes emails, twitters, subscribed news alerts, comments, other site news feeds, and messageboards. Had nobody sent it to me, I probably would have found it in a few days on the messageboards.
Sure the cartoons popularity didnt hurt in trying to add a lil more Slimer footage. Is pretty cool to see how far Slimer’s development came in 5 years. If the 3rd one gets greenlit I wonder if theyd get slimer some more screentime/more involved in the plot.
very nice..is this gonna be on the special features on the GB2 Bluray?? =D
Is that Bill Murray’s voice behind the camera?
Nice stuff, I wanna see all this footage on the Bluray.
boggles my mind how the final cut ended up with less fluid movements in the puppet, than the actual test footage. nice find though.
This slimer animatronic puppet was very well engineered but I have to say that I much prefer the look of the original slimer from the first movie.
Yeah that is Bill Murray behind the camera, I saw this footage on youtube back a month before the game came out. There is one version where Murray is joking around with the little girl under the suit I believe.
Hm … seen before … http://protoncharging.com/gb/2008/02/15/behind-the-scenes-of-ghostbusters-2/ ?

I cant agree more with Matthew, i prefer a lot more the slimer in GB1, it looks more original and less cartoonish.
