Grey sweatsuit with a pale yellow polo underneath (for the collar); a proton pack born of a pop flat with the lower half of a music stand for the thrower, plus various bits of cardboard and construction paper; snow boots; and a PKE meter assembled from an old Robotix set. I also had a shoebox trap and a bodged-together containment unit in my closet.

Wow, i do remember going around every halloween as Peter, he was always my Favorite {I'm a Smart Alec, It runs in my Family, I Identify with him the most :)} I used to have a khaki jumpsuit, and even the pistol belt to go with it, but outgrew it very quickly, so it didn't last too long.
I was even Staypuft for one Halloween.
I too had all of the Kenner Toys, (Except for the Ghost Spooker, which still haunts me to this day, until i break down and get it from Ebay)
I used to play with my friends all summer. (I even got my sister to be Janine) Those were some good times. Thanks for the Trip down Memory Lane!

1) You painted Sean's curb BLACK?! Was it red before? Are you trying to get him arrested?

2) I was 15 when the first movie came out so a military flightsuit fit me just fine. Sorry for you guys.

3) I would rather have seen GB3 in 1999. Today's movie sequels feel some compelling need to be bigger, louder, more explosive, more over-the-top, etc. Ghostbusters was about a lot more subtlety than most people are aware.

4) New cast of unknowns? Perfect. I support that. I would be deeply concerned with "BEN STILLER STARRING IN... ghostbusters three." When a big name actor ego offsets a movie then it's not about the concept anymore, it's about the actor. ( Mission Impossible, anyone? )

5) I will NOT hug Cyland under any circumstances. I'm pretty sure he's capable of picking me up and bodyslamming me before I get one hand on him.

I was lucky enough to have a grandma that was handy with a thread and needle so i had 3 or 4 of the kids coveralls that my grandma hand-stitched my own nameplates and logos onto and i would wear them daily. Not to mention she put up with me using her front-face loading dryer as my own personal containment unit in her basement. My mom even did the same at home and both volunteered to "empty ghost traps" for me and my cousin while we were busy busting other ghosts. The Ghostbusters 2 ones were nice, and both me and my cousin had both proton and slime packs so we could alternate who did the zapping and who did the sliming. Man those were the days...when the biggest concern was homework so the weekend was free to watch Real Ghostbusters cartoons and play Nintendo and Sega. Those were the days

Eek, sorry Chris - not what I meant. Just wanted people to know that conversation is ALSO taking place elsewhere (in addition to here, where they should also comment and enjoy and browse around because PC is a hundred times better than sheet cake for your birthday). :)

Unfortunatly I didnt have anyone to help me play with it all, being an only child and all. At the time, but hey atleast I had it all. Thanks for the flashbacks dude. They were some of the best years of my life!

For those playing the home game, quite a few people have been reminiscing about their childhood GB equipment and uniform memories and sharing photos over on GB Fans as well... how cool to hear everyone's stories:

Great article, really enjoy reading these!

I didn't have a jump suit and was always incredibly envious of the children modeling the ghostbuster toys on the packaging who always had jumpsuits which I desperatley wanted! I dunno if you could get the jumpsuits in the UK (correct me if i'm wrong) but i was lucky enough to have the kenner proton pack which i wore with an all white trouser and jacket ensemble with the Ghosbuster logo arm band wrapped around my arm. I also had ecto- goggles which my mum made for me out an egg carton box!

Me and my two friends used to play ghostbusters in the playground all the time, I was Ray, and my other friends were Egon and Winston. No-one wanted to be Peter because he kissed girls! Oh how times have changed!

I dunno about anybody else but when I got my 6" Ray figure and looked at the no-ghosts logo printed on his arm it flashed me right back to my childhood holding the RGB kenner Ray figure in my grubby hands!
