So, here’s the deal – Mattel is holding a collector survey and one of the first questions is “what do you consider yourself a collector of?” followed by a long list of properties… only Ghostbusters isn’t on the list. Mattel has previously expressed an interest in doing a lot of things with the Ghostbusters license, but just to be safe, anyone who has been buying the Ghostbusters figures from Matty Collectors for the last year should consider doing the survey and writing in Ghostbusters in the helpfully provided “Other: Please Specify” section.
Maybe we don’t need to remind Mattell we’re here, but it can’t hurt.

I just reminded ‘em. The only reason I even look at their site is Ghostbusters.
Weird thing was it asked why I don’t collect any avatar crap. I explained that I was totally NOT intrested in that. Just GB.
Now show me the 12″ Venkman figure already Matty!!!!!GEEZ!!
Yeah, I wrote it in. I really hope we at least get 6″ Venkman before they screw this up.
Took the survey, I hope our words to be listened.
uh… I just did the survey and got this response.
Thank you for your interest. However, at this time, we are looking for survey respondents who fit a different profile.
Please do not be discouraged, as there may be future studies to which you will be invited to participate.
Maybe they tagged “Ghostbusters” or maybe it’s because I work for a marketing/production firm.
They won’t let me take the survey because of my industry affiliations, go fig… but I love the fact that you can only enter a number from 1 to 100 in the “how many toys do you own” section…
I got the same response as Spiff.
Just completed the survey, and got through many questions. I’d like to see more collectable GB stuff.
why do things like Voltron make the list, but Ghostbusters doesnt?
i did the survey… they asked me if i would like 2do more surveys in the future, i told them i would
maybe i can put more input about making more ghostbusters toys
I have matty collector s page on facebook. I the ghostbusters toyline is in goodhands. I cant wait to get the gb 2 figures w/ slimeblowers. And real ghostbusters pete venkman.
I wrote in for Ghostbusters as well, and also expressed my extreme non-interest in Avatar and that my only reason for visiting their site was to order Ghostbusters merch. Heres to hoping the 2nd edition is as good as the first.
It’s nice that they’re looking for info from buyers, but don’t bother if if you’re not in the US. I selected Canada from the pull down menu but it wouldn’t recognize anything but US states and postal codes. So the survey would not progress for me beyond that.
How else can you interpret this other than sales of the line have been less than expected so we won’t prioritize future output?
Really sad.
It figures… so far I have been extremely UNimpressed with Mattel’s handling of the GB license. The figures’ quality and release schedules are horrible, and now they exclude GB from their survey.
IMO, Art Asylum is the running for doing the franchise any real justice when it comes to figures. Sure, their stylized Lego-look may not appeal to everyone, but they’ve put out a huge variety of figures, including heros and ghosts, with obvious close attention to detail… heck, they even come with attachable proton streams! You know these are being produced by a company that truly “gets it”, and for that THEY get my $$$, not Mattel.
i don’t think mattel will drop ghostbusters, half the figures they sell are sold out
