[UPDATE]
AJ at GBFans has found the source of the photo – it comes, along with a handful of others, from Matty Collector’s Facebook page. The comment with the photos is a little disappointing, as it says the Ecto-slime Peter is going to be blind packed, which will be a surprise for anyone at the show who was hoping on getting the regular one.
Retro Action is coming to the Ghostbusters with this “Citizen Ghost” Peter figure from the animated series “The Real Ghostbusters”! Peter talks with 3 phrases right from the show. Also includes proton pack and wand. Special variant for SDCC is an all Ecto Slime version of Peter with clear green skin. This variant is randomly packed and available only at the show! While supplies last.

One of the kids at GBFans posted this photo of the Citizen Ghost variant of the Retro-Action Peter Venkman that will be available for sale at the San Diego Comic Con – Sadly in their rush to claim first-post victory, the poster didn’t say where they got it from, but it is undoubtedly the figure.

That is really neat! I wish I was going to SDCC now…
Found the source. MattyCollectors’ Facebook.
More photos and and link updated in main article.
my names AJ too , ,i found this first , thanks for the shout out
aj deleted my post for some reason when i posted this on GB fans when i found it on there face book before anyone else – FYI
“That’s a different look for you”
Much more cool than the other one. Why on Earth are they exclusive to a comic convention…yeah, I know the answer. If you can afford to shell out $20+ for a toy, SURELY you can afford $100+++ for a ticket to SDCC & gas…
wow. how lame
Randomly packed variant to boot? Man, I was pretty sure I was gonna skip this before, DEFINITELY going to now.
wow. i call it lame and my post gets deleted? thats cool
I m kinda dissapointed in the variant. Arent these retro figures supposed to be at toys r us too?? I really wanna see pictures of the gb2 4 pack.
Kyle – You got flagged by the spam system until I could OK your post. And your follow-up whining.
AJ (not Quick), next time, post sources. There’s nothing sadder than posting for “FIRSTS!”, but not providing any background details.
Aww, man. That looks SO cool. I like this variant WAY better than the regular RGB version. But why the need for blind packing?
Oh well. Can’t make it to Comic Con anyways… maybe Matty will sell any extras (psh.. fat chance) online?
I could be wrong, but based on the reception this RGB line initially got, I’d think the blind packing makes perfect sense. It’ll help guarantee that all these RGB figures actually sell, since the rare green variant will have good collector’s value. I know I certainly wasn’t going to buy these RGB figures as anything but collector’s items, if at all. This type of figure isn’t what the fans were hoping for.
Does “randomly packed”/”blind packed” means that of all of the boxes of merch Mattel is bringing to the con, this figure *might* or *might not* be in the boxes?
In other words, does it mean that Mattel themselves doesn’t know if they’ll actually have stock of this figure available for sale at the con?
Paul, that’s a pretty silly question.
They’d obviously have it blind packed in the boxes they’re taking to the Con. That doesn’t mean that they have no clue what stock they’re taking with them.
